A Shreveport native, Dr. Martin graduated from Calvary Baptist Academy. …After college at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas, he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport School of Medicine. His medical training with an internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship also took place at LSUHSC-S.
Dr. Martin holds American Board of Internal Medicine certifications in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions (FSCAI). Other memberships include the Louisiana State Medical Society, American Heart Association and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Away from the clinic, Dr. Martin enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He is very active as a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church and a school board member. Dr. Martin is a founder and director of the Cavalier Youth Football Program and he has been an assistant varsity football coach since 2006. Aside from coaching youth and high school football, Dr. Martin enjoys playing golf.
