Dr. Robert Joseph Mathes, MD

He was the worst dr I have ever had. Years ago he tried telling me I had a brain tumor when it was actually an inner year infection (big difference) . He also prescribed a meg dosage of vit d for 6 weeks wich led me to have kidney stones. Horrible!

Dr. Mathes was professional, informative and spoke to me with respect and kindness.

I went in to get a ring cut off my finger (pregnancy swelling), and first Dr. Mathes tried to remove it manually. He damaged my finger significantly and refused to stop even while I cried, screamed, and asked him repeatedly to just cut off the ring. After about 20 minutes of intense pain, he cut off the ring, which caused no pain at all. He commented that he didn’t want to cut off the ring because maybe that would make my husband upset.

Though he was able to establish a relationship with my elderly mother, he continued to ignore important information that was supplied by her main caregiver. Because of this, the patient suffered greatly. He continuely refused to refer to other professionals that would have been able to help her. It seems funny that Mass General Hospital was able to diagnose the patient with in 2 hours, the question needs to be asked why he could not allow himself to listen or to refer. I would not at this time refer this physician to anyone. He was totally unprofessional and put this elderly woman at great risk.
