Dr. Robert D Matteson, DDS

Dr. Robert Matteson, D.M.D., P.A.
Dr. Robert D. Matteson joined the US Navy upon graduation from Lake Worth High School. He served four years as a Dental Corpsman with the US Marine Corps and aboard the ship Bryce Canyon AD36. After separation from active duty Dr. Matteson attended Palm Beach Junior College and received an AS Degree and election to Phi Theta Kappa. Dr. Matteson completed his under graduate studies at Florida Atlantic University where he received a BS degree in Chemistry. While at Florida Atlantic University Dr. Matteson received the Robert Lee Chastain Research Scholarship for undergraduate research in Chemistry.
Dr. Matteson completed his dental training at the University of Florida College of Dentistry where he received the D.M.D. degree with high honors. He was recognized for his academic achievement in removable prosthodontics and elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society. Dr. Matteson completed a mini residency in Dental surgery after …graduation.
Dr. Matteson maintains memberships in the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Central District Dental Association and Dental Society of Greater Orlando in addition to Membership in The Academy of General Dentistry. Dr Matteson served on the board of Directors of the Dental Society of Greater Orlando and was president in 2001-2002. He served as a delegate to the Florida Dental Association and on the Board of Florida Dental Political Action Committee. He was elected to fellowship in the American College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Dr. Matteson has two grown daughters, one who is a business manager and the other who is an opera singer. He and his wife Nancy reside in Winter Park. They enjoy bicycling, with a local bicycle club , the Ballet and the theater.
