I arrived at the office 15 min early as request for 1st visit, 20 min later they called me to fill out the new patient paper work. About 50 min after arriving they finally called me to back to the examining rooms. When I told the nurse what I was there for, she stated that the doctor did not treat that medical condition, I sated that when I made my appointment I clearly stated exactly why I need to see the doctor (my medical condition and that I needed my med's refilled do to a planned trip out of state), and they did not say anything about the doctor not being able to treat me. The nurse then told me that there office staff does not know what the doctors treat, and that I was the second patient that day with the same condition that had to leave untreated. I asked why there staff does not know what their doctors treat and stumbling through words the nurse basically said that the receptionists are not allowed to ask what the appointment is for due to patients privacy which is fine… and the way I think it should be, but I stated why I needed to see the doctor and you would think that the staff should know what their doctors can and cannot treat!

I'm going on a new health insurance plan and I needed to find a primary care physician. I'm new in the area and started making calls. The receptionist at the "Urgent Care" office said Dr. McClees was accepting new patients so I made an appointment to meet him and say hello -- no exam of any type was scheduled. When I arrived I was given paperwork to fill out about my health history, social security #, emergency contact info, etc. I said I had no intention of giving them my personal information until I could meet the doctor to see if we were a good fit. Well, I would have to fill out the paperwork anyway, and pay a charge of $125 just to meet him. No thank you.
