Dr. Robert Mcmurtrie, DO

When I first saw Dr. McMurtrie, he appeared to be a caring and thorough doctor at first. Within one year of being his patient, he did a complete 180 and was absolutlely the most condescending, uncaring physician I have ever encountered. On several occassions, if I asked him for more information, alternatives, or if one of his treatments didn't work, he actually was verbally abusive towards me. Bad enough that his patients suffer from excruciating pain, though his nasty attitude and lack of compassion only worsen one's struggle with chronic pain. Would rather perform nerve blocks on myself than go back to this "doctor."

I should have believed the reviews online on this doctor. I figured i would give him the benefit of the doubt. I have never met anyone in the medical field ad unprofessional as mcmurtrie, i wont even give him the respect of calling him doctor. See for yourself, this guy is ignorant and rude.His office manager acts as if she doesnt like him either. I should have believed the reviews online.its easy to get an appointment because he has very few patients.

I failed to do exercises so this doctor said I was not in compliance and he could do nothing for me! I was appauled to say the least. I'm in pain and my arm feels heavy, it hurts to excercise, but Dr. McMurtie expected more. I was basically asked to leave his office by him because I was asking him for other alternatives. It was horrible. I'm almost 60 years old and have never had such an experience. I'm beside myself with pain and now I have no doctor. This doctor has NO bedside manner. This is a true story.

He is the worst doctor we have ever experienced. Immediately assumed my husband was there for narcotics. My husband tried to talk to him and it was like he didn't want to hear a word. It was like he already knew everything about him before we walked in. All decisions were made about his care (which was non) all decisions about what kind of person my husband was, was made before he went in. My husbands dad went with him, who is a pastor, and he couldn't believe how rude the doctor was and how uncaring. Don't go there unless you want to feel frustrated and like a criminal.

Did not listen at all, in & out like a flash. I told him Tens unit long broken; he says to my GP I currently use it.Horrific communication. Glosses over or doesn't mention pain medication/aspects of, did not discuss future plans; then OUTRIGHT LIES, saying he did so and patient is being difficult... and BTW after 5 mins total office visit he asserts 'patients pain isn't near bad at all'. This with as of yet no tests, no MRI, no physical exam, no review of 30+ years of previous doctor's charted chronic pain treatment.Never trust a CYA liar. I pity his current patients.

Dr. Mcmurtrie treated me with total disregard. In my 50 years of medical experience as a registered nurse, I have never seen a doctor treat a patient with such indifference. Talking head. Would not recommend to anyone.

Ive seen Dr McMurtrie for over a year now and couldn't be happier with his skills. I am tired of being a "number" to the medical profession, so when I find a doctor who listens to what I have to say, doesn't make me wait too long, and understands my situation/diagnosis, I keep them. He is a keeper.

Dr Mcmurtrie is a rare doctor with a great compassion and sincerely cares about his patients. For many in pain, each day is a trial and torment. Science can provide only so much, then it is up to those aspects of what makes us human that counts. Dr. Mcmurtrie is the most wonderful and compassionate doctor it has been my pleasure to know in decades and he was absolutely wonderful, caring for my mother that suffered terribly with chronic pain. My eternal thanks and highest recommendations.

Dr. McMurtrie was very rude & unprofessional during my appt. I decided to leave rather than let him perform any procedures on me. The office staff was very apologetic & seemed extremely embarrassed by his attitude. I rescheduled my procedure with another dr. & was treated totally different.
