Dr. Robert Meador

Dr. Meador is uncommonly human.

I was a patient of Dr. Meador's for many, many years here in Texas before he relocated to New York, and came to him as a scared college kid, riddled with auto-immune disorders that began to destroy my life in my prime. Already balancing type 1 diabetes since age 5, I was in terrible shape. Dr. Meador is the MOST compassionate, kind, and truly gifted, brilliant doctor and human being. Doctors like Dr. Meador are once-in-a-lifetime finds and so rare they barely exist anymore in the pool of doctors who coldly match test results with diagnoses. Dr. Meador lives, breathes, eats, rheumatology and not just gifted in understanding where, why, and what is going wrong and how to fix it but as life changes and stressors trigger our diseases to attack, he bends with life and our disease activity as we do, adjusting and monitoring treatments, changing it if it isn't working. He TRULY cares about each person who is fortunate enough to be his patient and can easily be contacted if necessary. When… he left Texas, I cried for days and felt like I lost a valuable friend I had seen every 6 wks to 2mos, for over a decade. People, much less DOCTORS, like Dr. Meador are an extreme rarity in this day and age and never before or since have I found a doctor as wonderful as he is and truly gifted in his field, but excels most in the lost art of helping people and listening and finding real relief for those who are really hurting, lost looking for a diagnosis, and many of whom were like me and had been shuffled from one specialist to another, not knowing what was wrong either, or wanting a case like mine due to the complexity and difficulty and not wanting to admit they just don't know. At the beginning, Dr. Meador said he didn't know what all was causing me such misery and sudden deformity bc it was too early and tests and time would reveal it. A true wingless angel in a white coat!!!

I have been seeing Dr. Meador for 2+ years due to autoimmune issues that no one else has been able to help me with. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is patient, kind, gentle, thorough, and most importantly, a great diagnostician. He is open to questions and listens carefully. He returns calls promptly and really cares about his patients. I wish he was my GP. He is the first doctor who has helped me feel better in years.

While Dr. Meador is very knowledgeable and takes his time, his staff is anything but. Very unprofessional, a lot of eating, gossiping and fooling around. Very unorganized.

Gives me confidence

Excellent diagnostician. I had various symptoms for many years and it didn't take him long to figure out I have a rare autoimmune disease. He started me on treatment not too long after. He is thoughtful, a good listener and seems to care very much about my wellbeing. His nurses and front desk staff are top notch too. Office is clean and comfortable.

I highly recommend Dr. Meador. I was suffering from undiagnosed auto-immune disease. I was in pain, had lost 20 lbs and had no energy. My GP had written me off. Within a few months of seeing Dr. Meador everything turned around. He is a good listener, answers all questions and is willing to entertain pushback. He is very gentle and has a great bedside manner. He is very quiet and that can take a bit of getting used to, but he is very patient and extremely competent. I am impressed that he always returns calls promtly. I wish he was my primary care physician.

Very happy with this doctor. Listens, patient, timely. Answers all questions, great follow up. Only gave good for bedside manner because he seemes a bit standoffish. Highly reccomend.

I really cannot say enough good things about Dr. Meador. He listens to every detail. He returns every phone call. He is receptive to patient feedback. I was in a desperate place when I arrived at his office. I was literally dying of an unknown lung disease. He found the right answers quickly and he saved my life. I had seen numerous doctors before him and they just kept telling me that they didn't know why I was so sick and that I should make plans to prepare for my families security. I am now doing extraordinarily well after what turned out to be complicated but manageable autoimmune disease. I have recommended him to many of my friends and will continue to do so. He is hard to get into but it is worth it to get answers, He is the best in his field.

I wish more Doctor's cared for their patients like Dr. Meadors. He compassionate, very kind and takes time to listen. I was in such pain and my son called his office, he had my son call 911 and met us in emergency. Knowing he was there made me feel very special and cared about. God Bless Dr. Meadors and his staff.
