I have had Dr. Mormando for many many years. I have had many discussions on health matters with him, and he always is careful and attentive and responsive . Often he has called me back when I have been concerned over my health. I am happy he is in my corner. His staff on covering nurse practioners is wonderful as well. So if it is a last moment issue , they are qualified to give the right solution. I also have used the telemedicine and his my chart computer system and love that his office is tech savvy. It's tough being a doctor in these times, and I am so happy to have him on my side.

Have been a patient of Dr. Mormando’s since 2013. I had always known him as one of the best doctors in all of Long Island. Just the past few years have seen a drastic change in his handling of patients . To me a primary care physician( PCP) typically does routine check ups and treats minor problems. Anything major must be referred to a specialist by the PCP. Typically PCPs have a good network and contact of various specialists to send their clients/ patients to. It was Dr. Mormando’s Office one time got a consult for me with a gastroenterologist within 24 hrs. True I am a person who shy away from going to doctors or following up but I think it is here when PCP ‘s play a very important role to ensure we follow up and do the needful to keep us fit. But now to make an appointment with Dr. Mormando we must do that 6 months before and if he is unable to keep an appt. and cancels it, then you either see him after another 6 months or do away with seeing an NP . Fine,! Accepted! I am have… been in a lot of pain with my feet. I tell him that and also mention the pain is not on the bones, I need an MRI I guess. He says, I will order an X-ray. X-ray does not do what MRI does, but he would not give me a prescription for MRI. My health insurance allows me to have these tests, then why would he not write me a prescription for MRI. Of course, the latest was beyond my imagination, I was bit by a bug., which was infected (slightly) . Called the office, after quite a lot of explanation, I was given an appt. with the NP. She was wonderful. Gave me antibiotics, and wanted to see me back in two days. Things were getting worse. So when I go back in two days, the wound looked very bad. NP says will check with Dr. Mormando but I think you should go to ER. Dr. Mormando as usual is very busy, but is in the next room, so NP takes a picture of my wound to show him. Really !! so busy that he cannot take a peek at a patient who is so critical? I insist I want to see the doctor as I don’t think I’d want to go to the ER and get treated by PAs or residents. NP suggested that they might need to open up and take care of the infected area. ER’ s typically treat you temporarily and send you to specialists. If after seeing the doctor, I need to go to ER and he cannot do a consult to send me to a specialist like an infectious disease (ID) doctor or such then why do I need a PCP to be seen. It’s worse than seeing a quack, right? He would not budge and insisted I go to ER. But I had terrible ER experience so I was reluctant. I make some phone calls and get connected with one of friend”s who is an ID doctor. He suggests an antibiotic which would help to heal and I would not require to have the wound opened up. The ID doctor said you can have him call me if he wants an explanation. I go back to Dr. Mormando and tell him what the ID doctor said and gave him the contact info. After about half hour wait, the nurse returns and says, Dr. Mormando said he would still want you to go to ER . I asked, did he speak to the ID doctor. The nurse said, “no he will not, he said, “ if you want to get the prescription then you can go to the ID doctor and get” . Which is what I finally did, but from 11:00 am I actually was able to get out of the doctor’s office at 2:30pm. Dr. Mormando was in Pt. Jeff while the ID doctor was at Peconic Bay hospital which was almost an hour’s drive from there. But Dr. Mormando would not speak to the ID doctor over the phone knowing my critical condition. So he would not get me treated by a specialist but by either a resident or PA who would do the job like the NP who did her best. So for him his ego was more important than my super infected leg. At least the NP had the courtesy of calling me back to check. Dr. Mormando did not even care. Was this his ego or lack of interest in treating a patient properly. Today I am all healed with the oral meds prescribed by the ID doctor. If the PCP does not have contacts, then why does he need to be seen. If he would not be cooperative and help the patient then he should not be in this business. Sorry Dr. M!!

I was a patient for over 15yrs. I wanted to go see a specialist about a particular illness. Next, I received a certified/return receipt letter terminating myself as a patient. Very dissapointed with his professionalism. I have to wait months to see specialist since I don't have a doctor to get me in sooner.

Dr Mormando is a wonderful Physcian who truly cares about his patients and is willing to go the extra mile for them. Great Office and happy to be a part of it!

Dr Rob always get back to me in a timely fashion especially when addressing multiple issues.. he has always been so thorough whenever addressing a medical issue. He is very well spoken, informative and personable. I'm so lucky to have been referred to his office!

Dr. Robert Mormando is an outstanding physician. He takes great care with his patients. He is always available to answer any questions and is always available for appointments.

I think Dr Mormando is in amazing Doctor. My husband and myself have been seeing him for over eighteen years. We would never change to another Doctor. He is Caring, always listens to His patients. He has always called back when there is a problem at night or a weekend. I would and do recommend him all the time.

It's rare to find a doctor that genuinely cares about his patients and explains treatment options on your level of understanding rob mormando is one of the unique doctors that does !! I trust him with my health and would recommend him to everyone .
