Dr. Robert Lawrence Murdock, MD

Dr. Murdock is a no nonsense doctor. My impression based on my own care is he is conscientious and compassionate and spot on with both diagnosis and treatment.

I suffer from anxiety and depression and when I’ve felt at my lowest, Dr. Murdock showed compassion, understanding and most importantly, he listened without judgement. He’s reliable as clockwork and every three months assesses my treatment plan. He puts me in mind of a chemist with his vast knowledge of medications and their interactions. His calm demeanor makes me feel safe. I would also feel safe putting my family or friends’ mental health concerns in his care.

I have nothing but good things to say about this doctor. I've been seeing him for years and don't know where I would be without him.

Pro: Easy to get into, easy to make an appointment, listens to you and your feedback, friendly and kind staff, upfront about office policies (for example, he will not complete any paperwork for insurances, he will not bill insurance, he will not complete prior authorizations for prescriptions-expect to pay everything out of pocket), phone calls are returned very quickly by his staff, very short wait times for appointments, very clean office, discrete placement Con: Will not complete any insurance paperwork (but he's honest about it right up front), "bedside manner" is rather cold and odd which gives one the feeling that he doesn't want to hear about your feelings his job is just your medication He's a very stereotypical psychiatrist, makes me think of what Freud must have been like. But he's efficient, thorough, and accurate. He will listen to medication feedback, he will work with you. Just don't expect warm hugs.

Never had a worse experience with a psychiatrist EVER. He's incompetent, full of himself, and uses volatile language.

Difficult to relate to. The doctor that referred me to Murdoch. said, he really didn't have much of a personality, but thought I would like him. How about ZERO personality. He gave me prescription DIET pills, and was bouncing off walls and couldn't sleep. I believe his is a bad, bad doc.

I have been seeing Dr. Murdock since 1992. I think that he is a wonderful and caring individual. He can definitely tell it like it is. However by doing so, he is trying to help you take a look at your personal situation so that you can address your problems more realisticly.

His personality is a little stiff, but very professional and helpful and caring.

He does not have much of a personality or bedside manner. He never really looked me in the eye. He is a cash only doctor and does not even file your insurance. I cannot get in touch with his staff. I am not sure he even has staff.
