Dr. Robert Gerard Naegele, MD

I was under Dr. Naegele’s care for over 20 years, and during that time, he provided adequate medical care that supported my health needs. His approach is blunt and straightforward, which may suit some patients, particularly those accustomed to a direct style, such as military veterans. However, his bedside manner may not resonate with everyone, as it can feel brisk and less focused on personalized health goals. In recent years, I noticed a shift in my experience. Appointments felt increasingly rushed, often lasting five minutes or less, which made it challenging to address my concerns thoroughly. I also encountered issues with a knee replacement surgery, which he denied three times based on secondary lab results that I found unclear or inconsistent. Additionally, when transitioning to a new physician, I faced difficulties obtaining my medical records, including a previously completed EKG, despite signing a release form. I was informed by the office staff that record transfers could… take up to 30 days, which delayed my care with the new provider. The office staff were generally polite but seemed cautious in their interactions, and I observed frequent staff turnover. On a positive note, his practice consistently offered same-day or next-day appointments, which was convenient for urgent needs. Overall, while Dr. Naegele’s care was sufficient for many years, my recent experiences led me to seek a provider better aligned with my current health goals.

We recently moved to Nebraska. I have been around a long time (I’m old) and I’ve been around doctors a long time. My father, brother and son are all doctors and I worked for 22 years calling on doctors as a pharmaceutical sales rep. I have worked in both my Dad’s office and in my brother’s office. I have encountered doctors from both the side of providing care and the side of receiving care. I know from personal experience that competent and caring doctors are increasingly hard to find and so I feel extremely lucky to have found Dr. Naegele. He is not only intelligent, knowledgeable, and experienced, but is humble enough to listen to what you say and to honestly consider your opinions, wishes, and concerns. He never tries to impress you with his knowledge or expertise. He is not only concerned with my healing, but also with my thoughts and feelings in that healing process. His happy disposition contributes to the process. The members of his staff are also happy and go out of… their way to be helpful. Again, none insist on being right, they only want to be helpful, and they usually are.

Dr. Naegele always shakes your hand right when he walks in the room and greets you will a smile. Next, he listens to why you are there, he takes the time to ask questions and to explain what will happen next. I also want to add that if the appointment in front of you runs longer than expected, he will not rush through your appointment to make up time. He cares about his patients and want to do what is best for them.

He's never late. He will take time to explain things to you if you ASK. I haven't noticed the Arrogant side that others complained about. But interestingly enough, the complaints are worded very similarly. So they may be suspect as to being different patients and different points of view.

This doctor is AWFUL. He is extremely arrogant and does not care for his patients whatsoever. He does not keep his word. I came in to be seen for an MVA injury with a lawyer involved. He promised to relay all info to my lawyer but never did. When I called to find out why he didn't, I was told he "never told me he was going to" which is a complete like, further, I was told I must go in to "talk this over" -- an office visit which I would be charged for. When I asked if I could simply ask him a question over the phone I was told "no" by his nurse who told me he refused to see me unless I came in for a charged visit. I can't say enough awful things about this guy. He's a joke, stay away from him! He cares about no one but himself.

After 15 years of our family of five, being patients of Papillion Family Medicine, they used the wrong form (as told to me by the employee from PFM who scheduled the tests) to schedule three tests to be performed at Bergan Mercy Hospital. As a result, only one of the three tests was performed. PFM scheduled the tests, told us when to be at Bergan, we were there, and did what we were told to do during the testing. At the time, we had no knowledge that only one of the tests was done. Since it was already late in the year, we were unable to reschedule the missed tests during the year in which we had met all deductibles. Dr Naegele was unwilling to accept any responsibility for the mistake made by his practice. He offered no help whatsoever to us so that we could get this matter resolved without significant additional cost. Quoting from his letter to us dated 4/1/2016: "Let me state clearly, and for the record, that PFM was not and is not responsible for Ms. H failing to get her… testing at Bergan Hospital, and will not be held responsible for any portion of charges she may incur if she chooses to have such testing."

i have been a patient of doctor naegele now for a few years, he has been the best doctor i have been to! i moved from maryland to nebraska for the "great" doctors out here and out of the 12 i have been to he is by far the best. He found me a surgeon to do the necessary surgery i needed(which was so hard to do, due to me being 21 nobody wanted to do a hysterectomy) after 9 surgeries being put through nothing but dnc's and every hormone and birth control pills out there he has gave me hope. He does not give up on your medical issues and needs. He always has a resolution and if something don't work out he always has a back up plan. He is my favorite doctor and the best i have been to through out the states and he is the only one i will continue to see! He is also very good to talk to, he listens and don't rush you out the door like most doctors do. He takes his time with you and makes you feel very comfortable and answers any questions you have. It is nice to walk out of his office… relieved everytime i visit him once every 2 weeks.

He is arrogant & narcissistic, a bad doctor and a really bad administrator. I would not recommend a clinic that he is in charge of, because he is there! He treats people like they are inferior to him and he thinks that he is the all knowing master of knowledge and what he says goes!
