Dr. Robert Daniel Normand, MD

My mentally challenged 62 yr old brother had a hernia repair and the care he received from Dr. Normand was excellent. He spoke very patiently to him and explained the procedure and what to expect. He asked my brother if he had any questions and was so caring and patient both during the pre-op office visit and at East Jefferson that it touched me. I highly recommend him as a surgeon and as a person. A good man here!

They just don't have too many doctors like this one anymore. Dr. R. Normand takes his time to listen, then will knowledgeably address concerns and questions in a vocabulary that is understood, making sure that you are aware of your options for treatment. I have been his patients for a little over three years, my longest wait time was about one hour. It didn't happen often and it never bothered me, because I knew he was not going to rush me out of the office either. While Dr. R. Normand is intensely gentle and soft spoken, he definitely can appreciate tasteful humor.

Does not return after hours phone calls. Doesn't receive a record of after hours/weekend phone calls. Other surgeons were on call and he had no idea there was an issue. They ignored the signs of a deep vein thrombosis and my father died of a pulmonary embolism in the hall outside of his office. if he had been told to go the emergency room for his symptoms instead of being told everything was ok, they could have caught it in time.

I had a Gall Bladder that was inflamed and needed surgery. Could not get a Doctor on the West Bank for two weeks to even see me. Brought my test results from West Jefferson hospital and The following week had the surgery done. This is a very compassionate man which explained everything to my husband & I. I highly recommend this doctor if you need his services.

Dr. Normand is an awesome surgeron. Very good bedside manner, very considerate of how you are feeling, makes you as comfortable as possible. I will recommend him to everyone I know.

The wait was well worth it. He spent time listening to me and my concerns. I never felt rushed. I recommend him to everyone that needs a surgeon!
