Dr. Robert John Patrignelli, MD

Dr. Patrignelli is a dermatologist in Trumbull, CT. He is an embarrassment to his local community, and to the medical community in the tri-state area. Dr. Patrignelli's office has FOX news on so loud in the waiting room that you cannot hear yourself think. He was (still is?) an avid supporter of Donald Trump, and claimed that Corona virus was a hoax. Following in the former president's footsteps, he referred to the virus as "China's disease". I formed my low opinion of him as a medical professional before I knew what a political idiot he was (I figured one of the receptionists had put Fox news on in the waiting room- I did not assume an educated Doctor would require such drivel to be on at all times in his office). Dr. Patrignelli is exceedingly condescending. If you do not stroke his ego, he will snap at clients. He is rude and petty, and he WILL argue with clients over political issues. He way is the right way and if you don't like it you can get out of his office and take your… skincare needs elsewhere. I believe his political leanings are impeding his medical profession, and skewing his treatments. After staunchly disagreeing with him politically, he became short with me, and extremely frustrated. He started throwing medical jargon around that he knew I did not understand. He was being condescending. Dr. Patrignelli wanted to get rid of me as a client.

Billed incorrectly, given false information and then rebilled AFTER they corrected the initial mistake. It was THEIR error but yet I was still billed. Wondering if they are trying to bleed money because of the current epidemic and appointments are down. Unethical and inexcusable.

Saw the doc beginning of the month and could not believe how belittling he was to his nurse and staff.

Currently pregnant and for the last month have suffered through a very itchy rash all over my upper body. Went to Dr. patrignelli at the recommendation of my OB, who took a biopsy and diagnosed me with folliculitis but couldn’t do anything for me while I was pregnant. My c section is scheduled for Tuesday so I called to see if he could send his recommendations to my OB so course of treatment can be started while I’m in the hospital. Four phone calls with his staff later and he insisted that I come back into his office for a follow up in order to get his recommendations. So, just so he can collect another office visit fee, he’ll have me suffer through this itchy rash for almost another week rather than work with my other doctor and have me start treatment for what he has already diagnosed. Obviously does not have patient’s best interest at heart.

I tried to reschedule an appointment that I had on Monday morning at 7:45 am on Friday afternoon at 11:45 am. The office was already on service stating that they would be back from lunch at 2:00 pm. I called at 2:10 pm and the message stated the office was closed but I could hold for the answering service. The answering service picked up and I spoke with Corey who told me he could not take my cancellation, that I could call on Monday morning when the office opened which was 7:45 am, the exact time of my appointment. I work in a doctors office and we always take cancellations on our service because we understand that life happens over the week-ends and people might need to cancel or reschedule. I was trying to be courteous and give them as much time as possible to let them know I would not be there. At 7:45 am I will be driving into work and unable to call Dr. Patrignelli's office and let them know I will not be coming and so it will look like a "no show appointment" which it is not.

Great doctor!

I've been a patient of his for years. He is the best, most knowledgeable dermatologist I've had experience with. He always asks me about my family and he really gives me the sense that he generally cares about my wellbeing. I've read some negative reviews portraying a completely different Dr. than who I've experienced the past 6yrs. He does zoom in..does what he has to do, and zooms out..but he is running a very busy practice. I honestly don't care if he converses with me or not, I care more about what I'm there to be treated for and he is always on point as far as that goes. I would never see anyone else!

Fraudulent billing insurance for Acne surgery and $190 for popping a pimple, then misprescribed medicine dosage that should have been half of what it was. Should have also ordered followup blood work and didn't.
