Robert Allan Paulsen, MD

I have been a patient of Dr Paulsen for 20 plus years, My parents and children are also patients. He is an amazing and very compassionate Dr. He figured out and dx me with Trigeminal Neuralgia. I got the surgery I needed to end the pain and have had great success! Love him and highly recommend him.

Dr. Paulsen has been my primary doctor since he first got out of medical school. He has been such a wonderful friend & doctor. He not only helped me raise 4 sons, but went through 2 difficult marriages with and also helped me through a rough working environment. He is honest and trustworthy. I make a joke that he knows me 98% and the good Lord knows me 100%. That's only because I am not sure about that 2%........He knows the whole me, body & soul. I have been so blessed to have him in my life all these years and I love the man!!!

If you somehow have the ability to know when you will be sick, then he's the doctor for you! Very unimpressed with him. Mostly because of all the money I have to spend because when I do get sick it takes TWO WEEKS until the next available appointment. I went for a check up a couple weeks ago and he was asking me questions, and if I said yes he would pause and when I began to explain what was wrong he would interrupt me and continue talking. He spends little time with the patients, and although I don't think he's rude on purpose I do not feel comfortable with him as my doctor.

Paulsen has been my doctor for nearly 30 years, I had him from right out of med school and has been my primary physician my entire life. This is no longer true. The service of his front desk is horrid, they do not care if you come in or not. It is impossible to get a referral or a message to or from the doctor. He spends no time inside the room with you, and does not explain anything, though I do trust what he decides. If you have questions you better have them printed up before hand and give him a list, otherwise you will not get an answer. I told them that I would be switching and they told me it does not matter, then hung up the phone. After 30 years with a doctor, I hated to switch by my new doctor is fantastic.

My only complaint is that the waiting time is never less than an hour. They take you to the exam room usually around 30 minutes, I think they do this so it makes it harder for you to walk out. I am sitting in the exam room now and the wait has been 1 hour 25 minutes already and no sign of the doctor yet. I have been going to this doctor for many year with good care but the wait justs keeps getting longer, I think it's time to find a new doctor!

I selected Dr Paulsen when my Primary Care Physician left the OMNI Group. I thought since he was also my mothers physician that would be a plus, due to similar health issues ie skin cancer. After 5 + years I don't think Mr Paulsen would know me, or what my medical conditions were, with my chart. I feel like I'm just 15 min out of his busy day. I expect more from my Dr, I am currently looking at other physicians,s as soon as I find one i will be firing Dr Paulsen.

I hate that when I call back with follow-up questions, my questions are given to the nurse rather than the doctor. The nurse always gives me advice that differs from what the doctor suggests during follow up visits. Most times, rather than asking the doctor, the nurse just asks me to make an appointment. Afterward, when i see Dr. Paulsen, he tells me that I have no reason for concern. Without insurance, this appointment, where I am given no new information, costs $70. These questions could have easily been answered over the phone if it weren't for the nurse screening all my calls and making her own decisions on which questions actually reach the doctor's ears.

I have been seeing Dr. Paulsen for over 10 years. He isn't afraid to tell me what he thinks I need to hear, and he takes lots of notes that he refers to the next time you see him. He is kind and professional. I have recommended 3 friends to him and they all rave about him.
