Dr. Robert P. Penney, MD

Dr. Penney has zero compassion. Saw him for my first pregnancy appointment. He gave me bad news that I miscarried and was out the door within 5 minutes. Never asked how I was. Never asked If I had any questions. Never explained what happened. Just dropped a Bomb on my lap and ran out of the door.

now that I see other women having the same experience I’m glad to know I wasn’t the only one. Brought me into his office asking what kind of birth control I use, asking if I use condoms I tell him no and he asks me “ do you like men ejaculating on you?? Are you a porn star??” Super super unprofessional and should NOT be left alone with young impressionable girls. Do not see him.

I have had several pelvic exams during my pregnancy and he was by far the worst at it. He made me feel like cattle. My husband even felt completely uncomfortable during my exam. He has seen me have others by other doctors and he said he just felt so bad for me. My insides literally burned after his exam. I’m praying I am not stuck with him delivering my baby as I have read horror stories about stage four tears he has left behind on women. Now I can see why. Also I’ve seen him about 8 times and the last visit I had with him he forgot I was a first time mother and acted like he’s never had me before. I have no problem with any other doctor in his practice. He is just rude, snippy, demeaning and rough. I love the practice but am thinking of changing to another practice so I will never have to deal with him for another pregnancy. I’m frankly surprised he is still allowed to practice after some of the perverted comments I’ve read about him making to female patients. One of my first visits… with him, as he was talking to me and my husband, he placed his hand on my bare thigh for about three minutes.... he’s just a strange character and I don’t care to ever visit with him again. And if he shows up when it’s time for me to deliver in May -I’m refusing his care

Dr. Penney is so great. I was looking for a new dr due to certain circumstances my previous dr was going through and a coworker of mine had told me about Holmdel obgyn practices. From the minute I walked in with the assistant was very friendly and attentive. They brought me into an office to get more history about me considering I was a new pt. Dr Penney then came into the office to get to know me a little before we just jumped right into the exam. During the exam Dr. Penney made a very uncomfortable situation completely comfortable. He talks to you and keeps your mind off of the exam. He was aware I am going to try having babies soon and gave me very helpful tips and advice. I wish I could bring Dr. Penney to Ohio with me when I move so he could deliver my babies! Dr. Penney is the best!

I was at his office recently about having a partial hysterectomy and was appalled during my examination the inappropriate comments he made to me. He stated ihad a beautiful vagina, how great my body looked and how tight my stomach was. After my surgery about about 10 days later i had to go back to him so he can let me know the diagnosis after the surgery. I was there with someone special in my life and his attitude totally changed towards me and he was not the person i saw prior to surgery. He was abrupt and rude. I will never ever deal with his perverted mannerisms and talk. I am so done with him.

Because of Dr Penney, my surgery went beautifully. I was doubtful before the surgery and he tried to put my mind at ease about the surgery and the recovery time. Beside the time spent with me in his office, the day of the surgery, he sat down with me and my daughters and explained everything to me and them about what he was going to do and the importance of doing it. I know we all felt so much better about the surgery and he was right on the money. He told me that the recovery time would be minimal as was the pain. No restrictions after the surgery but I did take a week to take care of myself. I was back to work in 10 days, something totally unheard of in years past. Thank God for Dr, Penney's skills and the good Lord who guides him every day. I will definitely recommend Dr. Penney to anyone who does need surgery in the future.

When he first started practicing, he seemed interested in his patients and was concerned and pleasant. I remember years ago, he told me he didn't want to work past 50 because it was getting to be too much already. Here it is 16 years later, he is still practicing and his attitude is condescending and nasty. I still go to the practice...I just won't see him!

Dr. Penney is absolutely horrible. He is responsible for my son's preterm delivery and subsequent severe disabilities. how this man is still in practice is beyond me.

first of all, i must admit i really don't like to chat while having routine exams. another doc in this practice talked so much, it kind of turned me off. i'm not going to make longlasting friends or have strange men intrude on my privacy. personal questions, this and that, small talk on and on doesn't make me really happy. so i changed over to dr penney. he's a bit eccentric and prone to good and bad moods. i have seen him a couple of times and he's always been a gentleman, cool and not over intrusive. i give him a big thumbs up for that. he does talk a little, just to be personable and make you feel like you're important and that your opinions matter. i wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others although i am past menopause and have had my babies w/other doctors in middlesex county. but truly an A for effort.
