Blessed that I found such a good Dr!

Side effects??? What are they? This doctor with his pet drugs doesn’t know. Ineffective , suspect medical knowledge and his own substance abuse problems spell trouble. Ask him why he suddenly “left” charter hospital after 30+ years???? Alcoholics do not make good doctors

I met Dr. Peprah at Monte Vista Mental Hospital in 2005. At that facility our visits were very short, but he was able to switch my medications and stabilize my bipolar illness. Follow-up visits at Eldora Medical were usually long - 45 minutes. Over the years I have come to enjoy his demeanor, his insights, and his wisdom. Although he will not cross the patient-doctor boundary, I still regard him as a good friend who I fully trust.

Im glad I was given a second chance to be treated by Dr. Peprah because my first experience with him was not a pleasant one. I was admitted to Spring Mountain Treatment Facility not unlike other reviewers. Thankfully, I was only in there for four days under a legal hold. For obvious reasons (legal admit=involuntary), and a bipolar manic episode aftermath, I was in no mood, nor did i have the desire, to cooperate with him or anyone else at the center. Yes, he only saw me twice in four days and yes it was a short visit (no more than 10 minutes) and yes he seemed insincere and aloof, but again, I didn't care; I don't believe I was willing to accept any help from him since I had yet to still accept my diagnosis, which I had only received a few weeks prior. But alas, I was under his care during outpatient therapy and though my visits with him were few (if you call once a week few), they made a world of difference in the care of my disease. Sometimes I found 10 minutes was all I needed… with him, mostly to go over my meds and moods. He's not a therapist therefore I didn't need to cry my eyes out or figure out my past history's woes with him (that's what a therapist does). I finally realized that because he spends his entire day between 3 separate facilities, his time is very precious. The longer you're under his care, the more you see how effective he is as a PSYCH doctor. I understood the "aloofness" and the feeling of being rushed, but this man knew more about me and my disease (and could recite to me from memory all the different meds, moods and maladies I'd encountered in a span of 2 months) than my previous doc of six months had. Keep in mind people, he's merely one man, one doctor, not a therapist to be split twenty different ways to cure the world. Once I realized that, I was able to finally able to get my meds right and mood stabilized and there, Dr. Peprah did his job and effectively. Basically, he saved my life and my sanity and for that, someone with my disease (Bipolar II) would and should be forever indebted. Hashing out my "other issues"? I save that for my THERAPIST. Mental illness treatment teams consist of your psych doc (MD), therapist, and your immediate support system. You must have all in order to achieve the best management of your illness. (radical acceptance).

Dr. Peprah has been treating our family for over 8 years with mental health. He is by far the most professional, caring,knowledgeable,dedicated to his practice and accurate in diagnosing a problem.I feel very blessed that he was able to help my family become healty again.Also, his staff is very supportive to his practice.

I spent time at spring mountain as well, and agree with the posts that say this doctor sucks..the treatment at this place was horrible you could ask to see the doc and not hear back for like 2 days... then when you did finally see him it was soo rushed and nothing got accomplished.. very frustrating..
