Dr. Robert Edwin Peters, MD

I read a lot of the negative reviews before going to my first visit with Dr. Peters, so needless to say I was cautious. I have to completely disagree with the low ratings... My wait was more than I would prefer, but I'm giving him glowing references outside of that. Dr. Peters was personable, spent more time with me than any of my previous docs, and truly came across as genuinely caring. In addition to, he listened to all of my concerns and handled them accordingly. My husband will now also be going to him and I'd recommend to others!

I saw all the low ratings for Dr. Peters on here and felt I had to weigh in. I've seen him twice over the past couple years and both times I thought he was just fine. Perhaps he's not all smiles, but I actually found him friendly, caring and effective. I also like that he seems to balance conventional medicine with simple natural remedies. Scheduling the appointment and getting in to see him was effortless - the best I've ever experienced. I'm not disputing that perhaps people have had some legitimately negative experiences, but mine have been very positive and I wanted to tell the other side of the story.

Overall he wasn't very helpful. In my case, he had some mistaken views about current recommendations endorsed by majority of science based medical researchers with relevant expertise. He wouldn't even look at a paper I presented him with recommendations by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. Seeing a specialist in this area did a world of difference for me.

This Dr. does not listen and interrupts and speaks over the patient. He has a temper and his staff is rude. The waiting room is very small and cramped and shared with another physician. I would not recommend to my worse enemy.

Can't believe this man actually gets PAID to be offensive to people! Save yourself the agony of trying to communicate with a man who couldn't care less about YOUR needs and what YOU have to say about YOUR situation. He simply chooses not to listen or comprehend anything you have to say about YOUR medical problems or needs, which is by far the MOST important skill for a Primary Care Physician to have!

Very rude and unprofessional. I walked out and filed a complaint... and I was only there for a checkup!

After seeing Dr. Peters for a few years I just left my last appointment in tears. I was never thrilled with the service or level of competence of Dr. Peters - I was referred to him by my last doctor who stopped seeing patients. I just didn't really feel like searching for a new primary care. One one visit he was about to write a prescription for amoxicillin - and thankfully coming from a family of doctors I knew that was penicillin which he failed to recognize I was allergic to. When I explained the allergy he actually had to look up an alternative treatment in a handbook! Most recently I've been dealing with chest congestion and tightness. He gave me a peak flow meter to determine a course of treatment. After reporting back he prescribed me an proventil/albuterol inhaler. After using that for a while he wrote me a prescription for Advair telling me if I needed to use my proventil inhaler more than once or twice a day I would need to start using the advair. As my chest congestion and… breathing issues continued, I recently filled the advair prescription and went back for a follow up after an episode at an urgent care with a nebulizer. Right from the start of the appointment he was very rude and defensive, often raising his voice to respond to my questions. When I asked for a referral to see a pulmonologist he defensively asked why I wanted to see one. I explained that since Im now on the advair and continue to have issues with my breathing I just wanted some lung tests and xrays run so I didnt have to be on medications for the rest of my life if they weren't necessary. He immediately argued that I dont have asthma and all my breathing issues were the result of common colds, bronchitis, allergies, etc. I told him I didnt appreciate his attitude and was starting to get upset and he continued to belittle me by going through my chart page by page and pointing out Ive never been to see him for asthma and I DO NOT have it. When I asked why he would prescribe a peak flow meter, proventil inhaler and Advair he claimed the inhaler was for the bronchitis and cold and he never prescribed the advair (It was never written in his chart but I have a copy from the pharmacy!!) He continued to yell at me in a defensive, childish and unprofessional manner and I began to cry because I was so upset by his behavior. After more arguing I abruptly cut the appointment off saying it was over, time for me to leave and I would be finding a new primary care (hopefully one who can read a chart, prescribe meds I'm not allergic to, and remember a diagnosis and prescriptions!) I think Dr. Peters is getting old and set in his ways and doesn't like listening to patients or their problems. I tried explaining that Ive been sick more than I ever have this year and his response was "do you know how many times Ive been sick in my life??" He's rude and desensitized and also incompetent.

Wouldn't let me finish telling him what's wrong without interrupting. Tried to speak over me several times... I eventually had to cut him off. Had rude smart alec comments. Just seemed like he hated his job. Time to retire?

This is the worst doctor I have ever been in front of. He is argumentative and his bedside manor is horrible. If you care about your health I would not choose this doctor.

I only spent about 2 minutes in his office, the nurse that read my blood pressure I do not feel read it correctly. I have high blood pressure, but yet she said it was 130 over 60!! I asked Dr Peters about my blood pressure because I had been working with my old doctor at evaluating my blood pressure, he abruptly stopped be mid sentence and said, your blood pressure is fine. I went to see Dr. Peters today because I have had a severe cough for 4 weeks, he told be is was due to me being congested and that fluid were dripping. I told him that I havent been congested for the last 4 weeks, he once again ABRUPTLY cut me off and said, I am prescribing you amoxicilin, have a nice day. He would not answer any of my questions or listen to ANY of my concerns. DO NOT CHOSE HIS AS YOUR PCP.
