Zero stars! I have a special needs son that visited the ER for a possible bowel obstruction. Dr Petrella ordered an ECG, chest X-ray and a urine specimen that had to be collected through a catheter since my son incontinent. It took several people to hold him down and caused a day full of trauma for my poor guy. After two hours of waiting, Dr Petrella entered and said, “Well, everything looks fine.” I explained that my son was there for a possible bowel obstruction and he needed an abdominal X-ray. Dr Petrella said it was not necessary since my boy had been having diarrhea for four days. I actually had to explain that loose stool can get by an obstruction and I insisted on the X-ray of his belly. Sure enough, the intestines were full of stool!! Dr Petrella traumatized my son by putting him through needless tests, not to mention the thousands of dollars now being billed to the insurance company. This guy is awful and lacks compassion toward people with special needs.

Dr. petrella treated me yesterday at Fatima ER. He was the most thorough ER. Dr that I have ever seen. Great man

I saw him in the er at the va at a difficult time in my life. Very rude. Chewed gum with an open mouth throughout the encounter. Probably the most unpleasant xperiwnce I have ever had.
