Dr. Robert Lynn Quarles, DO

Tells it like it is but is thoughtful about how he words it so as not to hurt your feelings. This is a change from 10 years ago. He got better at motivating a positive change. I have been his patient for most of my adult life. He took over for Fred Melhorn and became my family physician.

Dr. Quarles is actively engaged in working with his patients to help them focus on areas of their life that will improve overall wellness. He does not make you simply feel like one of countless patients walking through his door. I look forward to partnering with him for many years in helping me achieve my health goals.

When I started with him six years ago my back problems were not fully diagnosed, so he did X-rays and then ordered an MRI that told me things my previous doc had never considered. But six years later there is still no surgery, and that's because he supported my reluctance to act until necessary. He made a referral for a specialist who agreed, no surgery yet. He's made a couple of referrals for good PT. And following a shoulder injury he sent me to a great surgeon for that. His office staff has had a couple of billing glitches, but my interactions with Quarles have always been highly professional and he listens, despite the time pressure of a general practice office.

prioring to moving to the are I had been experiencing various skin issues since my teens that seemed to reoccur off and on. I wentto Dr Quarles and found out that my skin had been misdiagnosed and that the things I was instructed by my former dermatologist were actually making the problem worse. After working with Dr Q I have been issue free for almost 20 years with no special meds lotions,etc since he identified the issue

I have been a patient of Dr. Quarles for years and as a whole he is nice and helpful. His staff on the other hand has been troublesome to deal with. Most of them are family members of Dr. Melhorn's family and aren't educated about all the medical issues patients see Dt. Quarles for since he is a DO, that includes many medical issues besides muscular skeletal problems. This was my case and I felt many times that his office staff were making fun of my mental state or trouble with lesions on my brain that sometimes made me have body spasms. I felt like they made fun of me and somewhat bullied me by doing so. I have chronic brain injuries that made it hard for me to process sometimes and I just recently called about getting a MRI report faced over to get a second opinion about spinal cord surgery, When I asked to have report sent to another doctor to get a second opinon before I had major surgery, that is when she stated questioning and berating me about my medical history, his staff… member asked me several questions about my visits to these doctors, implying that I hadn't followed threw with any appointments with these doctors I was asking her to send over my reports for no medical reasons. She then told me that I asked them to send over a fax every month, which wasn't true and even if I did do this, it would be my right as a patient to do so. She questioned my medical record at his office and also at my other doctors offices, which is none of her business nor is it her job to bully me like she did and often has treated me less then because of my oddities do to my disabilities from a level one brain injury. They twisted this all around to make it seem I was causing the problem by just asking for one more opinion before I went threw major surgery on my spinal cord, which suffered to injuries after being T-Boned at 55 mph when I was 14 years old and still growing. Now at 57, I ask for a little compassion and I get a mean girl who makes fun of me and makes me feel less then every time I walk in their office. I was dropped by this doctor because of mean girls in his staff who belittled me and made fun of my brain injuries instead of making me feel like a human being. I was looking for help from my doctor who found the 2 cysts growing in my spinal cord from an injury that happened 42 years ago. This could cause me to lose the use of my legs and when I am trying to get my medical records sent for a second opinion, I get questioned and berated. Good doctor but big ego.

Hands down the best Doctor in town, and most likely the Region. I cannot praise Dr. Quarles enough.

Today was my first visit, based on the reviews I have read. I was looking for a place where the Dr. as well as staff seem caring. I FOUND IT....based on this visit. Dr. Quarles was great. He listened to my questions and took the time to explain. He didn't rush me neither did the staff. I felt like I was the only patient there because they were so attentive. The nurses were the best. Think I'm changing my PCP. Thanks Dr. Quarles and staff.

I had been dealing with some hip and leg pain for a number of months. Dr. Quarles spent a few minutes asking me questions and listening to my explanation of the problems I have been having. He did some X-Rays, did an exam, and then determined that he thought the problem could be dealt with fairly easily. He did a quick adjustment of my sacroiliac joint, and then gave me a script for some muscle relaxers and some predisone. He told me that he expected the pain to be mostly, if not all, gone within a week.After two days, I was pain free! I could sit in a chair or ride in a car for hours without any of the discomfort I had been experiencing for the past 4 months. I enjoyed the visit as well as the result.

Dr Bob is The most respected Dr i have had the Pleasure to have met in my 54 yrs,Kind,Compassionate, gives you time to Talk ,and has offered many helpful ideas.Bedside manner beyond reproach,Not only seems to care,But proves He Cares about you.I could only rate a 4 cuz scale does not go to 10

Dr. R.Quarles is a very conscientious doctor. Before doing anything to me the first visit, he made sure that I didnt have a problem that might need a surgeons attention. He only manipulates when my muscles are lose, he will not force your body into doing something that would injury you. Hes patient, caring, has a great bed side manner. He also gives you exercises you can do to help your problem, and they work. I would recommend him and have.
