Dr. Robert P Radin

Dr. Radin started treating me when I was literally at death’s door and helped me to become a fully functioning adult, able to hold a job and live a full life. I never thought that would be possible, but here I am and it’s all thanks to Dr. Radin’s approach to therapy.

THIS QUACK WAS TEXING HIS PARTNER DURING MY VISIT. I ASKED IF HE WAS TAKING NOTES AND HE MATTER A FACTLY SAID NO MY PARTNER ASKED IF I WOULD PICK UP SOME DETERGENT AFTER EORK.

I'm reading all the other reviews and I can totally understand why some people have said what they have. I too found Dr. Radin to be gruff and not at all smiley and warm. It did throw me off at first. But is that what we should be looking for? He held me accountable for even small things (like not knowing what my insurance deductible was), and he doesn't have the vibe of someone who's going to let you blather on about how things are unfair. Instead, he calls you on things that you should care about/not care about, and things that are actionable, and this ultimately helps me be better. I WOULD bump him to 4 Stars, though, if he could work on the warmth part!

Dr. Radin charged me $25 per call to my insurance company, something that's in his job description. This ON TOP of my insurance deductible. I owed him well over $150 after my SECOND visit. Awful. Doesn't return calls, never emails when he says he will, and he's rude. Just rude. VDHP is going to have a field day with this guy.

Dr Radin is often doesn't listen, is condescending and insulting when one tries to relay how the meds work or don't work. He makes fun of my condition and admonishes one for having the symptoms of our diagnosis. He doesn't follow through when dealing with the health insurance. His answer on a Friday morning after not responding to either the pharmacy nor the healthcare provider for three days was "I can't do this, I'm traveling this weekend...." Only use him when you cannot access a real professional. Otherwise you will be degraded and insulted.

Dr Radin is a competent enough doctor. He's a smart guy and has a comfortable chair to sit in. But in my multi-year experience with him, it was a rare occasion indeed when he showed any sort of compassion or warmth toward me or any problems I might be having. At his worst, he is confrontational and insulting. I once called him because I needed to confirm the time of our appointment that day. Then, during the appointment, he proceeded to tell me how I was rude, entitled and an overall pain in the butt. I wasn't rude at all! I guess the concept of "customer service" is foreign to doctors like this.Anyway, eventually, I couldn't take it anymore. I had to end our relationship when he wanted to charge me for a session we never had. (Unless you call being belittled over the phone for 10 minutes a "session.") If you just want someone that can write you a prescription and talk to you about cars, real estate and the financial markets, than Dr Radin might work. But if you want kindness,… warmth and useful guidance, you probably ought to go elsewhere.

Checked his stocks during my appointment. Told me I couldn't see him while in the middle of a major depression. Nasty human being.

Completely unprofessional and rude to me. Not anyone that I would feel comfortable opening up to and sharing things. This is for his 9th St N, Arlington location, by the way.

He only likes to talk to you when you have a session. If your session is over, he acts like you can't talk anymore until your next appointment. One time he spoke to me for practically the whole 45 minutes about annuities my company sells because some financial advisor in NY wants him to buy it. After a while, I started to say, " hey your not going to buy from me so why should I advertise for some other guy, especially if you know that I'm having a hard time with my business. That was rude. I also had a major life changing event a death in my family and he didn't know of any greif places or he didn't seem like he cared about the situation. What kind of doctor is that. All doctors of different practices can help someone or know someone or place that specializes in grief. That has been my experience. After the death in my family, I don't really like him anymore. I know doctors are supposed to not get emotionally involved with their patients, but he should show a little humanity.

My experience with this doctor was about as bad as you can get. He was rude, impolite, insensitive, condescending, and down right nasty. I got up and walked out of my last session with him because he was calling me names. My comment to him when I was leaving was that he was supposed to be the behavioral expert, not me, and that his behavior was extremely poor.Also, handling insurance with this guy is a nightmare. He only accepts cash up front and is very incompetent when it comes to filing insurance claims. He left me with 2 sessions that I had to pay for out of pocket, which was a few hundred dollars each.
