Dr. Robert Winston Rees-Jones, MD

I saw Tammy Swaggler (one of the PAs that work under Dr. Reese Jones years ago for Grave's disease (hyperthyroid). She tried to force me to get a procedure I didn't want done. One treatment for Graves disease is to take a dose of radioactive iodine that will completely destroy your thyroid. You then have to take replacement hormone for the rest of your life. I told her I did not want to do this extreme procedure and that I did my research and found that it is fine to stay on the meds I was on long term. She withheld my prescription for those meds until I agreed to get a scan that would allow her to determine the correct dose of iodine to destroy my thyroid. I didn't know this was the reason for the scan until I arrived for the appointment. I did the scan anyway because she wouldn't give me my prescription until I went through with it. This scan was invasive and required that I swallow radioactive substances that were delivered to me in a lead container. It was completely… unnecessary because I said I would not destroy my thyroid. I ended up going dangerously hyperthyroid shortly after this and ended up in the hospital. I was pretty young at the time so maybe she thought I was some idiot who couldn't make an informed decision about my health. After my mom found out how she was bullying me into this procedure and withholding my meds, she called and complained. After that Tammy sent me a letter in the mail (obviously covering her butt in case we sued) saying that she was giving me the prescription to hold me over long enough to find another doctor. I did find another doctor that respected my treatment decisions and allowed me to stay on my meds. I am now in remission and have a fully functioning thyroid no thanks to Tammy Swagler. I am glad I was smart and did not let her bully me into a permanent and extreme procedure for a disease that quite often goes into remission. I also saw Dr. Reese Jones once or twice and he was also very dismissive of my concerns and my questions.

I had a Dx of Hyperparathyroidism and over 5 yrs and 2 surgeries this caring and brilliant Dr helped me beyond measure. He coordinated with top radiologists in NYC and doctors at Mayo Clinic to help me be cured.

I've goneto this office three times, never seen the dr even in the hallway, Nurse practioner tried selling me jewelry during two appointments, didn't listen well as I had to repeat myself and answer the same questions twice. I thought it was great to get in for a visit within a day, but that's because they probably can't maintain patients. I left feeling like no one there cared and then had to pay with cash and received a cheap receipt that didn't even have their office name printed on it. I don'treccommend this office at all.

Have had 4 appointments with his office, have never met the Dr himself. Was told by a nurse practioner, I could see him any time I want 9hasn't happened yet)Trying to decide if I should look elsewhere. Not really happy with his staff & how they run the office.

Dr. Rees-Jones was recommended to me after a very traumatic experience in another office. He was patient and kind, listened to me, discussed his thoughts with me, ordered the proper tests and diagnosed me correctly. He treats his patients with kindness and empathy and I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs answers about their health. I have recommended several him to several friends when no one else could find answers for them and they have all come away satisfied with the answers they found there and the excellent treatment he provided them. He's got a top notch staff also. Great experience every time.

I have never met Dr Rees-Jones. I was taken care of by a PA. I have osteoporosis that is severe. I was prescribed a drug that my insurance could not cover due to the cost of the drug and my prescription limit. The PA would not prescribe another drug as my osteoporosis is severe and he felt this was the only drug that would help me. The PA told me that I needed to find a second job to pay the out of pocket expense which would have been $1,000 a month or get a new job that had better insurance coverage. I am already working two jobs to survive so that was out of the question. He did refer me to Eli Lilly for help but they could not provide any assistance since I had a low insurance prescription limit. Since that didn't work, his only advice was to be careful not to fall. I now have better insurance, but I will not return to Dr Rees Jones' office for any care.

1st of all, I agree with "DON'T TALK SMACK" from an earlier comment. 2ndly, I thought the staff was completely professional, kind and engaging. In some review I read that Tammy was... all kinds of things! I went in, somewhat expecting a monster. NOTHING could be further from the truth. I found a woman willing to listen, explore and help with answers. If it's true that you surround yourself by like people, the "elusive Dr Rees-Jones" is going to be great when I meet him as well. If I never do, I'm fine with that, as I am TOTALLY SATISFIED with my experience and DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this office!!!

When I made the appt, I asked if they could help with balancing hormone levels. While Tammy at the office seemed knowledgeable,it was suggested I see a hormone specialist. So their answer when I made the appointment should have been no, they can't help balance hormone levels.

I have never met Dr. Rees-Jones after going to his office for over a year. Someone I work with refered me to him. I pay a co-pay each time I go to his office and I would like to see him every once in a while. I understand he is busy and I understand that without his staff that works hard maintaining his office I would have a harder time getting an appointment. Just maybe Dr. Rees-Jones has his hands more than full. You cant love someone you have never met. What about QUALITY OF CARE not number of patients.
