Most important thing: Dr. Ross has worked with children for many years, and his whole demeanor changes with them. He obviously cares deeply about helping them. Also, he calls his patients back himself everyday, even if he has to do it at 9 pm. I have never had another doctor do that. As for adult patients like me, you need to understand that Dr. Ross is a doctor of the old school (as in the calling patients). I can guarantee he will spend plenty of time with you and will have thoroughly analyzed your problem by the time you leave. Now, he is a loudtalker and can seem a bit brusque. It took me a while to realize that I needed to speak to him in short, factual sentences because his brain is busy. Once I adjusted, I had no more trouble with his manner, but I can see why others would if they didn't adjust accordingly. He is excellent at his profession and knows everything there is to know about allergies, however. He has some fascinating stories, too. The staff here is also… excellent and helpful. I highly recommend this practice and will go there until he retires.

I found Dr. Ross very pleasant, knowledgeable and caring. I have had allergy skin testing in the past & he is the first Dr. to actually check the tested sites and grade them himself. I sat across his office desk as he dictated the diagnosis, prescribed meds & even the manner of taking them. He made a printout for me of his dictation and went over it with me to make sure I understood everything. Since I am on a Medicare plan he was concerned enough to tell me if his recommended med turned out to be too expensive that we would then try a generic cheaper brand.

If you are looking for a soft and fuzzy experience you need to look elsewhere. If you are looking for an amazing doctor who is thorough and intelligent then Dr. Ross is your guy. I have been a patient of his for 12 years and he is the only doctor I will go to for my asthma and allergy needs.

First appointment with Dr. Ross he treated me like a child, which I am certainly not. Knowledgeable doctor, but is incredibly RUDE. He talks down to you, makes snippy comments, and is just downright rude. I scheduled a second appointment for an allergy testing. Once I returned for a 2nd visit, the nurse asked me what medications I was taking and informed me that one of the medicines I'm on (an antidepressant) prevents me from having the testing done. The front desk staff NEVER informed me of this, just told me not to take allergy medicine. I was unable to get the testing done, total waste of time and money. Called to have a prescription filled and the woman I spoke to on the phone was very rude because I was unaware of their office "lingo". I refuse to go back to this practice, nor recommend anyone to it. Plus for the High Point location you can only be seen on two days.

Worst experience with an allergist I have ever had. His office staff was the only reason I didn't get up to leave immediately after his first rude comment. Dr. Ross seemed confused about my presenting symptoms as he thought I told him I was allergic to something I never said I was. He then scoffed when the allergy screen confirmed I was in fact not allergic to that substance, like a 5th grader who had just won an argument with a 4th grader, or that he caught me trying to pull one over on him. He also conveyed a tone that he did not believe me when I told him of my anaphylaxis, condescendingly asking me questions that led me to believe he thought I did not know the meaning of anaphylaxis. He was condescending when I told him about past experiences with my eczema management, and didn't believe me about my food allergies or that a common OTC medication made me drowsy; he claimed "that's impossible", when the label clearly identifies drowsiness first on its list of common side effects. He… insisted on ordering additional, expensive testing that I did not need, as I had brought the results of my allergy tests from a much more respected establishment; however he "didn't believe them." Doctors like him are what is wrong with health care, ordering unnecessary tests to boost their private practice revenue, with the bedside manner of an unsympathetic boss who just fired an employee of 10 years. If you desire to feel important, cared for, and taken seriously, please avoid this doctor.

Dr. Ross is wonderful. His office staff and nursing staff are great too. He is professional and caring.
