Dr. Robert Thomas Russell, MD

The purpose of my review is to hopefully prevent other patients from being treated like I was by this doctor on 5/15/23. I was referred to Russell to confirm I didn't have a staph or mrsa infection before surgery. I suspected that instead, it was a nasolabial cyst, and asked him if he was familiar with them. He wouldn't answer my question and instead went on to tell me that the newly developed, large mass in my face might just be something I've always had and didn't realize. He was willing to do a scan, but not before talking to me like I was the least cognitive person he's ever met. After some heated back and forth, I left with him following me and nearly yelling at me. Honestly, this might be the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. For the record, I was finally diagnosed with a nasolabial cyst by another doctor and will be having surgery soon.

Did not listen. Ran expensive useless tests. Misdiagnosed me. Yelled at me.

Nothing new learned from seeing this MD 2X.

Maybe Dr. Russell is good with young children and people. I am an older woman and felt he did not take my concerns seriously, did not listen and was condescending. After tests did not find a cause for my dizziness (though initially I was told “crystals “) he asked how old I was and then told me to enjoy my good health. Go back to your family doctor. Goodbye. No empathy or any helpful suggestions. No explanation (though I asked) why the previously diagnosed crystals were apparently now gone. His staff is friendly and helpful and his audiologist very competent and professional.

Started working with Dr. Russell in 2008 and was very happy with he and his staff. Fast forward to 2016 and 2017 with further problems and was treated horribly by he and his staff. Would not recommend at all. There are many other choices of ENT's in Bloomington/Normal.

After suffering from recurrent sinus infections for over two years, I was referred to an ENT. Dr. Russell made a quick and accurate diagnosis and discussed all options with me before we decided that sinus/septum surgery would be best. His staff was able to schedule the procedure quickly and around my schedule. The after care I received was wonderful and I haven't felt this good in years!

excellent care. I had sinus surgery and it has made a huge difference to my quality of life. Diagnosis was fast, accurate and treatment was prompt. Great aftercare.

Dr. Russell has treated five of our family members for various conditions. He has performed surgery on myself and two of my children. I trust him completely. He listened to our symptoms and concerns and responded completely and accurately to them. I highly recommend him to ALL my family and friends!
