Dr. Robert Alan Schriber, MD

My first visit with Dr. Schriber the nurse asked me to take off all my clothes including my bra and underwear. I felt very uncomfortable with this. I left my under garments on. When the Dr. came in the room he had me lay back on the table to listen to my heart and got mad at me when he seen I still had my bra on. He asked me if, "I knew how to follow directions" and pulled my bra up to my chin! I was mortified. Not necessary to listen to my heart! He asked very few questions and didn't really want to hear what I had to say. His nurse drew my blood and I got outta there as fast as I could. Later that day he called me and told me he thought I had an aggressive form of Leukemia. He tells me this over the phone while I am at work!!! I am freaking out of course. He then tells me he has me scheduled with an oncologist the next morning. I didn't sleep at all that night because I am thinking I am dying of cancer. The next day the oncologist told me that I didn't have Leukemia and I only had an… autoimmune issue and that I was fine. Long story short, Schriber was HORRIBLE. The whole experience was traumatic.

The only reason I go to Dr. Schriber is because he was in the insurance network and I had received a referral. The first visit was actually the most pleasant. He was polite and seemed to care. Every other visit was a joke. I drove 25 minutes just for him to do nothing more than ask if the medicine is working. If it wasn't, then he'd throw something new at me. My conversations with him literally take maybe...3-5 minutes. The only time he seemed even remotely cheerful was my previous visit in which he was apparently very excited that he was retiring. I guess that makes 2 of us! Also, as a side note - this is probably the ONLY doctor's office I have ever visited in which they don't bother with a courtesy call to remind you of your appointment or even give you an appointment card. As a result, I've actually missed a couple of appointments because I completely forgot. Both times, they were rude about rescheduling.

I'm actually surprised at the negative reviews here (or maybe he learned from them!). I was referred to Dr. Schriber after my family doctor gave up on figuring out what was wrong with me and didn't want to pump me full of pills and telling me "hopefully these will work." I actually was referred to him because my local rheumatologist was totally insensitive and very few people actually like him. The appointment was scheduled quickly. When I arrived, they took me back almost immediately. I was actually relieved that he had treated me so kindly and with so much more respect than I was accustomed to with my family doctor. He seemed very interested in what I was saying, never cut me off and seemed quite compassionate. He was able to diagnose me after some blood work and X-rays with having Rheumatoid Arthritis and started me on some low dose medication. He immediately scheduled a follow up appointment just to check in about the medication and so forth. I'm going back today per his… recommendation because the medication I'm currently using (methotrexate, prednisone, and some malaria drug) weren't helping. He seems very eager to help me and is the first doctor I've been to who actually seemed to care at all. Overall, I really like this doctor, as well as the super friendly staff.

The overall visit and phone call with the results of the blood test were very upsetting. His bedside manner was very uncaring. No follow up suggested.

I have been seeing Dr. Schriber for a few months now for fibromyalgia. He diagnosed me quickly enough but it was clear from the first appointment that his bedside manner is close to nonexistant. My last visit I went in for a new symptom and he told me after a very short examination that he didn't know what I was talking about, and that it was basically all in my head. This is definitely not true, because I've had four other people who were not doctors check it out and they could see immediately what I was talking about. Needless to say, I have begun the process of finding a new rheumatologist who will treat me with some respect.

The docter interrupts me when I try to talk. He doesn't listen to me when I talk. He is only giving me not even five minutes and leaving the room. He isn't treating my conditions with the proper medications I find when I look them up online. Overall he is giving me horrible medical care and I believe because my insurance isn't good. Medical treatment shouldn't be based on the type of insurance you have, if this is why I am being treated this way.

I couldn't believe I could get in to see a rheumatologist as quickly as I could. Dr Schriber credentials are incredible and he changed my life! His staff was really pleasant and nice. This was a great experience and I would recommend him to anyone. I wouldn't say he has the warmest personality but he knows his medicine.

Dr. Schribner led me( a slim, young lady ) into a room, stood there looking at me, and said,"Now take off your clothes." When asked what for, he said for to get heartrate and blood pressure. When further pressed, he said, "You don't have that much on anyway," (tee shirt and jeans) and said to forget it.He also did not want to hear anything I had to say about my medical history/current condition, cutting me off mid-sentence. The entire time, his face wore the same, emotionless expression.
