Dr. Robert Lewis Seward, MD

Was prescribed medication for over 10 years that was not meant to be taken more than a few weeks. It destroyed my life and when I needed to come off the drug, Dr. S abandoned me and I when through hell the next 3 years recovering alone.

I've been seeing Dr. Seward for more than 10 years. He is one of the most caring, compassionate doctors that I've ever known. If it wasn't for him, I might not be here today. The first time that I went to see him, I was in pretty bad shape. Today, I'm pretty much 100% better. I hardly take any medication. I still see Dr. Seward every 3 to 4 months, because he cares about my well being. Thank you!!

So many psychiatrists now just give you meds and send you out alone in the world. Dr. Seward is a rare breed: caring, compassionate, empathetic. I have been seeing him for 12 years now. I have had periods with suicidal ideology. He has worked with me to make suicide contracts: If I feel suicidal I will tell someone. I will give my meds to my husband to lock up. I will immediately with regular follow ups. He schedules my appointments according to my wellness not his convenience. He always remembers and asks about my family members by name. He remembers d emails of my life. He is very wholistic and always asks about my appts with my spiritual adviser/counselor. He reminds me of Mr. Rogers from the old tv program! Very kind, gentle, and genuinely concerned. I think the other reviewer may have mistaken his concern and desire to find an immediate course of action as blaming and condescending, I have NEBER felt that way. I have always felt Dr. Seward felt I am in charge of my mental wellness… and mental health plan and he is my partner in using every tool I can in order to feel well. I highly recommend him!

Don't let that other review fool you. He is human like everyone else, but he MAKES the effort to understand you better given some time. also think his listening skills have improved over the years. If I've had suicidal thoughts and reported it to the staff, he has called and tries to fit me in VERY quickly, as soon as it was possible. He has accurately given me a medication that has helped. He doesn't just ask about meds and thoughts alone, he will ask about environment and what else is going on in your life. He tries to look at your situation from more than one angle. Give him a shot. This psychiatrist truly cares.

condescending and rude, if he feels that you are not feeling better he blames you instead of trying to fix the problem. If you are already suffering mentally he is not someone you want to see. He lacks professionalism and bedside manner. Not very good at treating medical illness because of his shortsightedness.
