Summary
Dr. Shoemaker currently serves as the chief of staff for Community Heart and Vascular Hospital and is former president of the Community Hospital East medical staff. He received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed an internship, his residency and fellowship at Indiana University. Dr. Shoemaker has practiced cardiothoracic surgery at Community Health Network since 1981. He has successfully performed the Wolf Mini-Maze procedure since 2008 with Dr. Randall K. Wolf as his proctor. Dr. Shoemaker is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the American College of Cardiology. Currently, he serves as a member on the Board of Directors for The Indiana University School of Medicine Dean's Council. He has served on the Board of Managers for The Indiana Heart Hospital from 2003 to present. He is also a member of the Medical Practice Executive Committee for Community Heart and Vascular.
