Dr. Robert Francis Slattery, MD

He has tremendous insight.

I went to see Dr. Slattery, because I was in a painful relationship with someone with a Cluster B disorder. Something he said stood out, but the implications weren’t clear at the time: “I have found people with mental illness don’t like to be treated like they have mental illness.” How kind, or so I innocently (naively) believed. Bob saw my wife for several years. At first, it seemed like a good thing: he was such a kind man. True to his word, he NEVER addressed her illness with her. They talked about HER HOBBIES, and he did not support ANY of my boundaries. In his defense, I think she had him buffaloed. Don’t psychs have the ability to sniff out these things? The onus was on me to be the adult and tolerate the abuse. Eventually, I left. It all turned out for the best. All these years later, I can finally say: “Thanks, Dr. Bob.”

Very good visit, nice, understanding, . Good timing, and easy to talk about me and my issues

I would not be anywhere near the health and happiness i have today, perhaps not even alive if not for the compassionate wisdom of this man.
