I can not say enough good things about this man,his staff and Plano Heart Hospital. My dad is presently in the hospital -3 days post op of open heart surgery. This was such a stressful time but they made it easy and kept us updated through out.He has gotten amazing care

In a day when Doctors can have the God syndrome...This doctor is so humble and so smart. He made us feel welcomed and at ease when we were worried about our dad. We drove 5 plus hours for a second opinion and soon realized he would be our doctor. He is so knowledgeable and took care in organizing a team of doctors to get my dad ready for his surgery.Can not say enough great things about this doctor.

From the very first meeting with Dr. Smith, I was impressed....from his hand shake and direct eye contact to his very professional manner and the thorough explanation of my heart problem. He took the time with us to talk, listen, show, and explain everything. I, of course, did not see him on the early morning of my surgery, but he was there, taking very good care of me. Post-op visits with Dr. Smith in the hospital were very reassuring. I am so grateful for the expertise, knowledge and skill of this fine doctor. I had mitral valve repair almost a year ago which was suppose to be a simple procedure. There ended up being unforeseen complications and Dr Smith had to take me back into surgery twice which ended up being a total of 11 hours. Surgery was originally suppose to be 2 hours. I am very lucky to have survived. I was in the hospital for 2 months and Dr. Smith came in almost daily to check on me. I had excellent care by both the doctor and all the staff at Baylor Heart Hospital. Highly recommend him to anyone.
