Dr. Robert Sidney Spira, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Robert Spira for almost 20 years & he is the Best Gastroenterologist I know. He treats the "whole" patient, rather than just the problem you are havings with your stomach. I have had numerous medical issues & some overlap with my stomach, for which Dr. Robert Spira listens & incorporates my stomach medicine with other medicines I need. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate & friendly Doctor, he is the one for you. His Office Staff is so very kind & they've become more like friends.

I have been seeing Dr. Robert Spira since 2001 & I find him to be the best Gastroenterologist. From the minute I met him I knew he was the right Dr. for me. I have had numerous health issues during the years & he always has found the right treatment for me. He is knowledgeable, understanding & by far the most compassionate. He makes himself available & I have sent numerous family & friends to him. His staff is by far one of the best I have ever dealth with.

I have been seeing Dr. Robert Spira for over 18 years. From the moment I met him, I knew he was the Dr. for me. I have had numerous stomach issues & he has helped me immensely. He is the most compassionate knowledgeabe Dr. I know & I do not know what I would do without him. My husband, daughter & brother all go to him & they agree-he is the Best. His staff is wonderful, courteous and helpful. There is nothing more that I can say-I would refer him to anyone.

Rushes from patient to patient, concerned that he "never saw me in a flare" as though he wants to see one, won't have his staff help with insurance paperwork for treatments, refers me to a cancer clinic for infusion treatment when I don't have cancer to save time on paperwork

Negative experience from the start. Just scheduling an appointment was an ordeal. Staff is either incompetent or just don't care.

Dr saw my son in jc med center for colitis , real big ego talked about credentials education and properly diagnosed my son . The thing education doesn’t teach are manners and an in efficient office that doesn’t return calls when a prescription needs to be refilled . My son waited 11 days for a call back and then Spira said here’s my cell if you need me don’t feel bad about calling me . Another prescription wasn’t filled my son started bleeding called Spira and the doctors reaction was I have no time for this call another doctor. So as the reviews show a solid 3 . It’s probably very accurate . Manners and an efficient staff should be a given when rendering proper care. I don’t care how educated you are a person without manners and a telephone bedside manner is not Someone I would recommend. I hope the Dr and his staff see this review . A 26 yr old depending on a doctor who tells a patient he has no time for him deserves this truthful negative review . Smart doesn’t equal good . You… don’t have to mistreat people who are depending on you . Robert A

If you are in need of the best Gastroenterologist, you have just found him. He is the most caring and compassionate doctor I have been to. He is smart, friendly and was able to get me back to health after being to so many other doctors. Dr. Spira treats you like a true friend; he takes his time and will listen to your concern. His office staff does a great job in representing him. They are friendly and bright and will go over your expectation with your concerns and questions. It is rare these days to find a great doctor. I am so glad I found him.

I had a wonderful experience when I went to see Dr. Spira last week. the Staff was caring and quite lovely.

Absolutely horrible. Just dismisses you and wants to leave the room right away because he totally over books his appointments. I was sitting in the waiting room and at least three other patients came in and stated that they had an appointment at the same time as me. Then I waited for almost two hours to be seen. When I got in he just wanted to rush out basically running out the door. I was telling him I had just thrown up while waiting to see him he could care less. He didn't even seem to care I had been sick for over a month and that I was still sick for over 2 weeks when he last saw me in the hospital he said he had no clue maybe it was a virus. I was like a virus that lasts over a month and you tested me in the hospital everything came back normal. He wasn't even going to try and figure it out he was just going to dismiss it and not try to figure it out just let me continue to be sick. Then he says he will send me for a CT scan and I called the office two days later to see… if they sent it to insurance company and the lady says the girl sent it to my desk today, but I can't send it Monday because I am all by myself so I may get to it Tuesday. Are you kidding me I am sick and you are taking your time. I would not recommend him at all. Stay far away. Unfortunately I have to go to him because I am limited with my insurance.
