Dr. Robert Carl Stauffer, MD

I have had Dr. Stauffer for 26 years before he left for Arkansas. Two years later, I'm going back to him. You must trust your Cardiologist completely for your treatment. Insurance sticks it's ugly head into our medical treatments. Dr's have to deal with it. Dr. Stauffer understands this. I'm driving an hour to see him, and it's so worth it.

I would not be alive if it wasn’t for his knowledge. I am allergic to contrast dye he saved my life.

He is very precise and knowledgeable. He knows his business and is an excellent doctor. you are in the best of hands with him....however.....he is always in a hurry, and his bedside manner is very curt. he is not there to be nice and make friends. he is there to heal you. if you go there thinking you are going to be meeting/dealing with dr. friendly from the 1950's, you are going to be sorely disappointed. He expects you to have your medical records and paperwork in order, and he does not have time for idle chit chat. He is demanding of his staff, and he comes across as arrogant and abrupt with is patients. This having been said....he has saved my father's life twice, and i would have not other cardiologist look at him. Stauffer is the best of the best in the area. Horrible communication skills. Does not listen. Hurries and make you feel like a number. Maybe if you bought him a round of golf he'd have to spend time with you. But another cardiologist is my recommendation!

Dr. Stauffer was willing to attend a conference call with not much notice, and at my convenience, to inform my family of my condition and all options for treatment. He has spent a great deal of time explaining and coordinating treatment plan. He has been very compassionate and kind and is highly skilled in cardiac care. He afforded me more time with my family than I expected and was expert in cardiac care. I trust him and urge you to select him as your cardiac doctor. He is quite simply, the best!

Very kind and attentive. Took time to answer all of mine and my families' questions. GREAT DOCTOR!

Acts like he cant wait to get out of the room with you and doesn't explain conditions/causes or treatments very well. Leaves you sitting in the room alone waiting for him too long (after I had a test administered). Just was not impressed with him. I do not think he diagnosed me correctly, as I am still having chest pains, shortness of breath, etc and am now going to the Oklahoma Heart Institute. A friend warned me about that office and I didn't listen. She wasn't impressed either.

This doctor walks out of the room while you are asking questions! His assistants (PA or CNP) are very patient oriented, great to work with. They appear to be embarrassed by his behaviour. But don't expect that from him. He would literally spend no more than 60 seconds with me and when I got my records from him - he had written false information several times. Even to the point that he reported false medical answers to questions he never asked me. I would only recommend him if he's the ER cardiologist on call.
