Best Doctor ever !

just wanted to say I went through almost the same experience with Dr. Stern as Astrid mentioned and the previous review. Dr. Stern had me sit down and asked me the reason I was there and the reason I believe I was having problems. He's questions were very aggressive, and disrespectful. He was not very polite and his tone was loud and rude towards me, it almost felt like he was mad at me, then he proceed to look at my nose he put a tube inside my nose, very painful by the way and he asked me to breathe in, instead I breathe out and caught me by surprise when he started yelled at me "BREATHE IN", after he takes the tube out, he passed me a Kleenex to wipe my nose and tears from my face, then he started talking to me normal like nothing happens. This is definitely not the way any patient is expect to be treated and for that reason I had called my PCP to have a second opinion.

I just wanted to say that the first time I call to set up an appointment his secretary by the name Joe she was very nasty on the phone and disrespectful and she was not very helpful. When I arrived to the office and I was move in to the doctorâ??s room, Dr, Stern yell at me, in a loud tone, He also explained to me everything with the room door open and he was very loud. I am pretty sure everyone else including the patient in the waiting room heard my symptoms. Privacy and confidentially for the patients IS A LAW REGULATION IN EVERY INSTITUTION.

The staff at the office, especially Jo, were very kind and helpful, fitiing me in last minute as I was heading straight from the ER to the ENT. She was very sympathetic towards how I was feeling and tried to help fill out what she could for me on my forms. Therefore, when it was my turn to see Dr Stern, I was surprised by his lack of bedside manner. In short, he downplayed my illness (despite having been sick for two months and having several bad cases of the same thing the previous year). I felt like I contstantly I had to justify to him why I was there. Here is an account of my visit, which lasted less than 10 minutes: He did not introduce himself or say nice to meet you. He had me sit down and had a look at my throat. When I opened my mouth and said "ahh", he sternly told me not to say ah. "Oh, I've seen much bigger tonsils," he said in a belittling manner. He told me he was going to put a tube down through my nose. It was very painful, especially due to it being very… dry and having a very deviated septum. He just shoved it down there without any lubricant and told me to breathe through my nose, which I had a hard time doing immediately because of the pain. When I don't do what he says immediately, he yelled at me "BREATHE!" and "NO!" After he takes the tube out, he hands me a kleenex to wipe my bloody nose and the tears from my face as an afterthought. This is not how I expect to be treated by anybody, much less a doctor. He then comments after looking at my paperwork, "oh hey, we both have anxiety! We are like the same." He says I shouldn't be having any trouble breathing (which I had complained of) since my airway is not blocked, and suggests that it is because I am stressing over my illness. He called me "sweetheart" in a belittling way and generally acted like what I had wasn't a big deal and made me feel like I was overreacting. I informed him of my be fatigued and he countered with "Well, I'm tired too." At this point, I was so shocked I didn't know what to say. I had just come from the ER where they had given me intravenous steroids, anti-inflammatory drugs, and saline. He finally prescribed me some antibiotics to see if they helped. If I hadn't pressed, he probably would have sent me off to wait some more before doing anything. When I left, I felt like crying. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this doctor.

I've been to Dr. Stern several times over the past 8 yrs. for different issues including some surgery. I have always found him to be very thorough and professional with a great chairside manner. Very caring. I would highly recommend him to friends and family.

While there are plenty of qualified doctors in New York City, I travelled all the way from NYC to Boston just to see Dr. Stern after developing a peritonsilar abscess almost overnight. This speaks to his fantastic abilities as a doctor as well as to his strength as a care provider. I was seen within minutes of arriving to the office and received only the best of care when later sent down to the ER. Dr. Stern was able to keep me calm through out my entire procedure, explaining what he was doing at each step and what I could expect. His attention to detail, willingness to answer questions and discuss any and all options/possibilities, and his professionalism make him the best ENT you will ever experience.

He is dishonest. I went to see him for a cold. He did nasal endoscope on me without telling me. I was billed for $331 for just a one time visit to see him to get Z pack for my cold!!!!!!!! I would never recommend this guy to any one.

As a patient i appreciated Dr. Stern's quick and efficient methods. I experienced very little pain after the process, this can definitely be credited towards his work. They worked around my schedule and always made sure that I was comforted through out. Jo his secretary was a total pleasure to work with. I would recommend Dr. Stern as a professional to anyone and gladly give him my stamp of approval.

I have been a patient of Doctor Stern for a number of years now. He is gentle, kind, caring and compassionate. He is accurate in his diagnosis and always willing to go above and beyone the "call of Duty." I wouldnt see anyone else ! His staff is excellent and caring as well...Just a great Doctor and a great staff !
