Dr. Robert Albert Strawbridge, MD

In 1977 I was in the Intensive Care Unit at Riverview Hospital with a life threatening Asthma episode. The ambulance brought me in and a respirator was put in. I was breathing in 40% air and not breathing out. My regular doctor couldn’t be reached and “Strawberry Bob” as he was referred to -came in and saved my life by taking charge! I remember it all like it was yesterday. One brother and wife lived in South Bend and our parents called to tell them “ you’d better get down here, we don’t think she’s going to make it.” I of course did and was sent home with steroids which I’m currently still on.but am trying to get off of using shots. As I am hoping that Dr. Strawbridge sees this message and remembers that time.

I have been a patient of Dr. Strawbridge since 1978 or 9. He was the one who finally diagnosed my recurrent pneumonias being caused by adult onset asthma & he has been treating me ever since. He is caring, professional but also genuinely concerned in my well- being. He is crucial to my overall health and was intrumental in my decision to retire from working with small children who carried every cold & cough right to my lungs. I cannot say enough good things about this doctor. I only hope that he does not decide to retire for as long as I am alive!
