Dr. Robert L. Sufit, MD

I met Dr. Sufit for the first time in the NMH OR Pre-Op area. I was there for an open muscle biopsy. He explained the procedure to me and what I could expect regarding pain management (my biggest concern) during and after the biopsy. He was kind, unrushed and made an effort to engage my husband in our conversation. During the procedure, I felt NO pain and he talked with me during the procedure about music, what he was doing, etc. He even showed me the muscle sampes he took. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Sufit to others who need to have muscle biopsies. My Neurologist had only told me that I would feel pain during the biopsy. Dr. Sufit certainly put that statement to rest.

condescending, rude, uncaring, arrogant

Dr. Sufit is very genial and talkative; not your typical neurologist so I liked him. Very good bedside manner. My condition was not too bad but he never asked me anything, never did blood work, never once examined me (left that to his residents). Continued all my meds as my other docs had prescribed. But once something happened, he increased one med and did not watch for or warn me of possible side affects. I eventually got very very ill but thought it was just the progression of my disease. My internist caught it and saved me. Dr Sufit is too cavalier with his patients and very impressed with himself. Would not risk going to him.
