Dr. Robert Alexander Swarm, MD

Never looked further into what might be wrong. Once I went in for an scheduled appointment and Dr was on vacation, no call to reschedule... Waste of time and money.

thinks in one demition,does not listen have to keep repeating myself , have several problems but he only tries to treat one at a time so no pain relief at all.but he loves to charge high prices ,even with no results ,any other busness would have to give refund.

My Mother went in to have a pain pump placed and he put the catheter that was suppose to go into the intercostal space, pushed too far into her spinal cord and she is now unable to walk. Then covered it up for 4 days until I demanded to know answers. After words, they were shoving my Mother out the door to an intense rehabilitation unit called Trissle. Inappropriate placement. I received the medical records of that surgery and found out that he lied to us. He initially stated that he "went into her spinal canal (intercostal space) two times". Come to find out, he went in 4 times! This has been devasting on both my Mother and her family. Trust me, this will not go unnoticed to the medical review board and other state and federal agencies regulating the physicians.

Very narrow minded doctor

I have been a patient of Dr Swarms for 10 years. He has always taken the time to explain to me the procedures that he feels will best minimize my chronic back pain. I have never experienced some of the things other patients have stated in their reviews. In fact, it doesn't even sound like the same Dr Swarm who has treated me over the years! I feel very blessed to have found him because without his treating me I would probably not be able to live a semi normal life due to my pain. Thank you Dr Swarm! Also, I would be remiss of I did not comment on the friendliness of his nurses and office staff. They always seem to go out of their way to make sure to accommodate my needs.

quirky at best, suspicious of patients and unemotional. He doesn't try to give hope. I suggest you go to someone else.

Arrogant and rude. Believes that everyone who comes in for an appointment is merely there to get drugs and stated such.

Let me start off by saying I will NOT be returning to see Dr. Swarm. I have been going through treatments on my neck for over 8 months now with no relief conservatively. My surgeon ordered one last injection to try. When I arrived at the office as a 1st time patient, I was not even greeted by the 3, yes 3 reception individuals. Not one even acted like they saw me. I stood and waited for probably 5 minutes with no acknowledgement from them. I then asked if I was supposed to sign in or what and they said to just sign in on the clipboard. I was asked to be there 1/2 hour before my appointment time so that they could get my paperwork put in the system as a new patient, so I did (actually 45 minutes early). There are signs all over stating that if you have not been seen within 1/2 hour of your appointment time please let the receptionist know. So after waiting over an hour I finally went up to ask when I would be taken back and they asked if I had signed in. I told them yes where I was… told to and what time my appointment. was. They asked for my name and when I told them they said oh well we had marked you as not showing up. I stated to them that I had been sitting in the waiting room for over and hour. They DID NOT offer an apology or anything but then finally got me signed in. Within minutes a nurse was out to get me. Then a resident came in and went through my history and such before the doctor came in. As far as the doctor goes, I have NEVER been treated like that before EVER!!! He also asked about my history and everything I said he told me that I was mistaken and I had either not had that procedure done or if they did it was done incorrectly. He was SO CONDESCENDING to me!! He did not listen AT ALL!! I know that he does this day in and day out and knows his stuff, but as a physician you should at the very least listen to your patients. I really should have just walked out of there, but didn't. He also refused to do the procedure that my surgeon had ordered! The procedure that he did do, I told him I had already done, and again he stated that it was done incorrectly and he would be doing it differently, I told him I had no relief before from it and I have terrible side effects from it. He stated that I would be fine and pretty much just suck it up. At this point I am so desperate for some relief that I am almost willing to try anything, so I decided to go ahead and let him try. Different is maybe better right? As I sit here and write this I am still in the same condition I was before the procedure and guess what, yes I had the horrible side effects that I spoke to him about. When I tried to contact their office the day after to let them know and see if they had and suggestions for relief there was a recording to leave your name and number and due to the high call volume they would get back to you within 48 hours. Again, it has been 8 business days, 11 days total since I left that message and I have not received a return call. I did not bother to even call back because honestly I don't want to deal with his office. I will return to this pain management if that is what my doctor suggests, but it will NOT be to see Dr.Swarm!!!!

he,s been very helpful in the way of NOT repeating tests or medicines or treatments. He assesd and moved forward with treatment.
