Dr. Robert Nicholas Troia, MD

We have been going to Dr. Robert Troia for 30 years now. We have to sons that receive eye care from him. He is the absolute best eye specialist ever. We travel over 7 hours one way to see him, yes there are eye doctors closer but no one with the expertise that he has. He has helped put everything at ease. He has done numerous surgeries on one of my son's and the results were amazing each time. By far the best.......will continue seeing him as long as it is possible.

While the bedside manner might be lacking, Dr. Troia is an excellent and brilliant physician/surgeon. He will give it to you straight and accurately diagnos the problem. I would recommend him to anyone who's child may have eye issues. Thanks to him, my daughter was walking within 1 day of getting glasses!

His office was very busy when I arrived, and I was early, so I feel my wait was no more than I would have expect. Though he is a pediatric ophthalmologist, I was an adult strabismus patient. He was very thorough in his examination, and very clear about what he intended to do with the surgery. I felt very comfortable with him, and very confident in his abilities. My confidence was justified after the surgery - I can't believe how much improved my vision is! He called to me at home a couple of weeks after surgery to see how I was doing, as well as scheduling a post-op appointment for six weeks after. I am very pleased and impressed with his work and with his manner. He is apparently much admired by the staff at the hospital, who all told me how lucky I was to have him as my surgeon. I agree.

I brought my 2 year old son to Dr. Robert Troia. He had a blocked tear duct. Dr. Troia spend maybe 5 - 8 mins looking at my son, and told us what to expect when we go to Boys Town hospital. He asked my son if he wanted candy, of course he said yes. Dr Troia held the candy out for my son, he went to grab it and the doc threw the candy on the floor. Hes a person, not a dog. When we went to the hospital we had an appt. at 9:15. We get there and they tell us that they tried calling us but didnt get ahold of anyone. They changed his appt. 2 hours early without letting us know. We find out that the reason behind this is because there were 2 patients before us that had appts that had canceled, and Dr. Troia didn't want to wait 2 hours for his next appt. So he went back to his office. He was nice enough to come in early (5:00 a.m.) to get the surgery done, but I would NOT recommened this doctor, his bedside manner is HORRIBLE, and his attitude is HORRIBLE.

Very busy office, but I never feel rushed when my daughter is there for her appointment. It is good to schedule your next appointment when you leave since the doctor is always very busy.

Dr. Robert Troia has been amazing diagnosing my daughters eye problems, the surgery, and follow up after the surgery to make sure she was doing ok. He always makes sure that I know what's going on, and answers all my questions before we leave the office. The night of her surgery he personally called my house to make sure she was doing ok and to see that we had the follow up visit set up. He is simply...amazing.

DR. Troia is a good doctor, but i feel like he can spend more time with his patients than he does. And he doesn't always have the best bed side manners. He likes to talk "medical talk" and it's hard to get him to explain what the medical words mean.

Has a better bedside manner than Sebastian, provides excellent care and follow-up, even calling the house personally as a follow-up after my son's surgery
