Dr. Robert Evan Tuchler, MD

During surgery training in Brooklyn, I was named "Best Teacher" and "Chief Resident of the Year." Completing a research fellowship in the lab at New York University, I invented a plastic surgery device and patented it. I began my trek westward to Houston for plastic surgery residency. Afterwards, I moved to Denver to join a private practice. I became "triple" board certified in general, plastic, and hand surgery. I chose to focus on plastic surgery, my true passion.

During 13 years in private practice, I was on many hospital committees and was elected to two terms as chief of surgery at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center. I increasingly identified with the Kaiser Permanente philosophies of member-focused care and collaboration. I served as an outside provider for Kaiser Permanente in Colorado for 12 years. Fortunately, I was given the opportunity to relocate to beautiful Orange County to serve as chief of plastic surgery at our new Irvine Medical Center/Sand Canyon facility.
