Dr. Robert Ritchie Van Bussum, MD

Absolutely a garbage human being. I'm sitting at home with Covid and have been pleading with his office all day for medication. Says since I'm not 65 I don't need any and refuses any and all help.

In pain from a falll on ice and they routed me through the maze quickly. Less than 2 hours.

I have been a patient of Dr. Vanbussum’s for a little over 11 years now. Not only does he treat myself, but my entire immediate family. He is kind and compassionate, and takes his time with each and every single patient he has. No matter what I am seeing him for, he never rushes me, never acts as if he is too busy to listen, and does the most thorough job with each situation he is prevented with! Not once have I ever been disappointed with him, or his capabilities. He always treats me with the utmost respect, and accurate treatment! My 2 year old who usually accompanies me to my appointments, absolutely adores him! He always hugs him and immediately wants to be with “Dr. V!” His front office, as well as clinical staff are amazing!!! They are always polite and helpful, and always very, very kind, if I need to call in to ask a question-no matter how big or small!! Anyone looking for a primary care doctor, do not look any further, I promise Dr. Vanbussum will not disappoint you!!

I was able to call in to office and get an appointment at 11:30 the same day for ear infections which started with a throat infection.

Very Unprofessional staff ..

Long time patient. Stayed with Dr VB when he left the Lexington Clinic. That should say everything. If I did not believe he is an excellent physician I would have changed Doctors.

Dr. Van Bussum is the best doctor I have ever seen in my 60 years. He is excellent in everything. He always has a smile on his face no matter what a day he's had. I like seeing that in a doctor or anyone for that matter. His staff is wonderful and his office staff is great.

Dr. Van Bussum, uses two physician assistants so I never actually had an appointment with the Doctor himself. I did not take issue with that an am fine with seeing an assistant because they are typically easier to get an appointment with. In fact I saw both of them several months apart and thought they provided quality and friendly service.However, I would like to strongly express my displeasure for the back office/nursing staff. I had an issue with medication that I need to extend. Todd (one of the assistants) told me you will probably need to extend this medication so just call in and we will do that for you. Therefore, based on his directions I called an left him a message. I then called back the next day and not one had any idea what had happened or if he had left any orders. Basically it took me 6 calls of me getting more and more frustrated to finally get an answer. I would say that extending this medication was of high importance but not an emergency. However, I will… never use this practice again because next time it may be an emergency and I dont want to deal with something like this if that time comes.

My overall experience is this Doctor does not diagnose the patients correctly. He at one time was a good doctor, but NOT ANYMORE~I had to beg this doctor to order the tests I needed. He takes you in, asks you what you need, writes his meds and leaves, there is no caring involved.
