Dr. Robert James Varipapa, MD

Dr Varipapa is the most knowledgeable and considerate doctor. His office is very efficient and organized with state of the art equipment. the staff is friendly and very helpful. My diagnosis was spot on and I have nothing but confidence in this doctor.

The staff was very nice. Dr. Varipapa was also understanding with my problem.

After seeing a good neurologist in another state, I saw Dr. V when I moved to DE. I have a painful neurological condition, Trigeminal Neuralgia. It's considered the most painful disorder known to medical science. I had been diagnosed 10 years earlier, and after much trial and error, including a high dose of morphine (tolerance builds quite a lot after 10 years) I had some relief. I saw him, explained my condition, and gave him a detailed summary from my previous neurologist. He scanned the report, gave me a cursory exam, and then proceeded to tell me, "I don't prescribe narcotics for your condition." Once again, I went through the summary, detailing everything we had tried, including CyberKnife radiotherapy, which didn't work. Again, he said he could raise my other meds, but would not give me narcotics. I asked him if he would be willing to wean me down (was taking over 100mg a day Don't judge, tolerance builds quickly), and he said no. I asked if he could give me… something to help with withdrawals. He said not unless I agreed to be his patient. In summary, this man wanted to take me off of over 100mgs of morphine a day, that I had built up to from 10mg of percocet over the course of 10 years. under careful medical supervision. That is not only dangerous, it's downright cruel. I have seen other doctors ad CNMRI, and the rest have been pretty good to excellent. Too bad this one rotten apple gives a good practice such a bad name. Avoid him like the plague!

My pain is not being addressed. I still have to go through each day hurting. I switched to Dr. V. due to a move and after years of going through tests and trying different meds I had the right meds for about 2 yrs but Dr. V will not write my usual prescriptions that my last Dr. had and gives me imitrex and another med that I was never aloud to take because of my kidney problems. They do not work for my pain and make me feel sick.

Completely misdiagnosed me. Worst Dr. I have even been to. Do not see him.

Doctor does not take interest in his patient. He doesn't listen. After one appointment, I was asked to do a headache journal, I did, took to next appt. and it wasn't even looked at. Needless to say, the doctor never effectively listened or treated me. Won't go back.

My wife has a rare, fatal, condition. Three doctors, one at BB health and two at Bayhealth said "take here to philly or Annapolis". Doctor Bob said I will care for her here in Delaware, where we live. He is the BEST in the state! My wife is resting more comfortably thanks to him and his staff!!

I went to Dr. Veripapa for double vision and numbness on my face and arm. He got an MRI done that day and saw me right after. It showed I had multiple sclerosis and after a few more tests, he put me pills. His staff had to fight with my insurace company and I was able to get a pill instead of using needles. He and his nurses are the best.

I'm a hospital nurse and Dr. V listened to me and explained what was going on with my symptoms. He had an MRI done and found out that I had MS and put me on treatment which stopped my numbness and imbalance. Now I'm back to work and doing great, thanks to Dr. V.

Spent most of my time with a nurse who took 1/2 hour to take medical history information that I could have filled out in 5 minutes on a form. The doctor was with me for 5 minutes, told me there was nothing he could do for me and then billed my insurance company $342.00. Come to find out later that I had an easily recognizable problem that he completely overlooked even though all the symptoms pointed toward it.
