Dr. Robert J Walter, MD

I wish I could give him 0 stars. It scares me that someone like him is working in the psych field. I saw him while I was at Saint Barnabas on two separate occasions. The first time, I wanted to see him, assuming that he would be of help to me. He came in, sat down for about 3-5 minutes, rushed through a bunch of questions with me about my personal life, looked disinterested the whole time, barely said a word to me, scribbled down notes, said goodbye, and left the room. The second time, I specifically stated that I absolutely did NOT want to follow-up with him, but he was unfortunately sent to me anyway. Another doctor even apologized to me for that happening. He came in, sat down with me for about a MINUTE, rushed through a couple of short questions, and left the room. Then I owed him an absurd amount of money for spending about a minute with me and not even doing his job. I can't imagine a worse psychiatrist than this. He should be fired.

Dr. Walters is a poor excuse for a health care provider, particularly in the field of psychiatry. He lack knowledge, understanding, compassion and is generally out to lunch. He is the consulting psychiatrist at St. Barnabas and basically you have to use him, that is if you can get him to come see you. If you are lucky he will see you once and then never communicate with you again. Sad. Very sad.

Dr. Walter has a very bad bedside manner. He came in like he was in a rush, and spent little time with me. He blamed all my problems on me. In the end I started to cry. Dr. Walter was very business like and is in it just for the money. He is nasty, and too business like. I would never go back to see him or that Staten Island Hospital, the mafia hospital.
