Dr. Robert Mark Wettstein, MD

Let me preface this by saying I am an RN and I made a mistake, I got a DUI and was forced by the BON to see this provider for a “psychiatric evaluation.” It has taken me 5 years to be able to write this review because of how traumatizing the whole experience has been. Doctor Wettstein was the most unprofessional, degrading provider I have ever encountered. Focusing more on my weight, 150 at the time and comparing to my prior weight of 120 from 10 years prior he perseverated on the fact that I had “let myself go.” Rather than discussing any sort of behavioral or psychiatric concerns doctor Wettstein asked me how my closet was organized and what was in my fridge, then proceeded to ask in depth questions about an assault that occurred during my childhood that I was forced to disclose, because he demands 10 years of medical record, regardless of how long you have practiced. Even beyond all of these disgusting things I think the worst was that he repetitively told me that it did not… matter what I wanted or what I believed my future would be because statistically once something happened nothing else mattered because you were going to be a drunk and be worthless for the rest of your life. All in all would not recommend

Was ordered by the PA BON several years to see Dr Wettstein in order to get an opinion if I needed to be monitored, for what was then3 years. He recommended monitoring. When I obtained a lawyer to fight this my attorney said I should "have come to him first for direction" he said Wettstein always sides with the state on these issues and if they want you monitored that there was probably nothing he could do . Dr Wettstein was mad that I had worn boots and denim, I asked him if he had been outside recently as there was a foot of snow and it was bitterly cold. He is a charliton and should have his medical license taken away.

Had to see this quack for BON and his concerns were my skin color, my family and if I have had abortions? What does any of that have to do with my 10 year nursing career? The man is a joke. He is solely bought and paid for by the BON and what they ask of him on negative feed back per the patients referred is what he writes. I had to spend 2.5 hrs with this creepy man to get diagnosed "stubborn." Hope he didn't waste all that money for the ability to do that.

I was FORCED by PNAP to see this weirdo and he has my nursing licence in his "hands" and was only worried about my piercings and tattoos and my vaginal births and I had to spend 2 Hours with this WEIRDO!

Dr Wettstein has been my psychiatrist for over a year. He prescribed medication and basically forces me to talk with him for 1 hour with each visit. The talking is worthless. He’s not a therapist and has a poor bedside manner, and doesn’t need a full hour to determine to keep giving me the same medication with same dosage. Im convinced he does this to make more money. After 15 min I just don’t have anything to say anymore since it’s clear he doesn’t care about me anyway. I keep coming for the medication but am going to switch doctors very soon.

Wettstein is a pawn of the state. The state pays him to write negative evaluations so they can screw with you and take your hard earned money. He doesn't care about you or is even able to diagnose correctly. He is clearly a hack paid by the state to write negative evaluations. I dont understand what is so hard for people to understand about this simple concept. He is a greedy, immoral person that only cares for his personal advancement. To sum it up he is totally corrupt and incompetent. No MD who has ever taken the Hippocratic oath would ever lower themselves to the level of this bought and paid for hack. Stay away from this doctor he is not your friend

First, Dr. Wettstein's office is in an apartment building and his office feels creepy the minute you get there. He has no email of fax, so any records you have to get to him go by "snail mail". I was there for evaluation for alcohol abuse. He mostly asked me about everything BUT my alcohol use and my 25 year nursing career. He asked me about what we did for Christmas and what vaccinations I got for my children. I told him I opted out of getting my sons the HPV vaccine and he stated, "So you want your sons to get cancer?" He was judgmental about me having a son out of wedlock and didn't think I took enough medications??? Not even sure what he meant.... vitamins? supplements? herbal? He denied any of the statements he made. I reported him to the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs for his unprofessional comments. I requested his evaluations be recorded as he conveniently seems to be losing his memory.

DR WETTSTEIN WAS VERY QUICK AND HARSH WITH HIS JUDGEMENTS HE DX WITH A ONE HOUR OR LESS SESSION SENT THAT INFORMATION TO PA STATE BOARD OF NURSING AS HE IS THERE RECOMENDED DR AND HAS IN DOING THIS MADE MY CAREER CHOICE AN OBSTACLE THAT HAS COST ME THOUSANDS NOT ONLY IN STUDENT LOANS BUT LOSS WAGES I THINK HE IS RUDE ARROGANT AND DOES WHAT THE BOARD WANTS HIM TO DO

Dr Wettstein simply has a poor bedside manner and interaction. He doesn't consider my real issues and is more concerned with being in charge or the interaction and discussion. I would not recommend him in any way.
