Dr. Robert Jerome White, MD

I went to Dr. White back till about 1998, for epilepsy. He had me on medicines that didn't do very good, and made me very, tired. At my last appointment, before I could say anything, he said "Well, I'm afraid there's nothing else we can do. You're just going to have to live with." I just sat there, then asked him about the side effects. He just looked at me and said, "Oh, you're going to have to put up with those too." I immediately switched to MCV (which had better neurologists, back then, than now) and one of the Dr.'s found that I was close to having a TOXIC REACTION to one of those medicines. Another Dr. (who has unfortunately passed away) skillfully got me off of it. I would not go to Dr. White.

Dr. White is takes his time and explained a plan of attack along with follow-up time frame. He wrote all of this down for me. He is a rare physician who is not only highly skilled, but also caring.

Do not go to this Neurologist. He is unkempt, dirty fingernails. I waited 3 months to get an appointment.After waiting 6 weeks I called to get mri results..still do not have them from Dr. I went to Imaging place and got my report, which showed I had some problems. I then called for an appointment with Dr. White to discuss results and was told I had to wait 6 months for an appointment. Ridiculous!

Dr White is a wonderful physician. Very thorough and concerned. He doesn't rush and explains everything in easy to understand language. We are very fortunate to have him in the medical community in Richmond.

Dr. White spends time with me to explain my condition and the medications he prescribed for me and how to use them. He is very caring and of all my doctors spends the most time with me. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a neurologist.

Took 5 months to get an appointment and then the night before the appointment I was called and told that doctor decided to take extra vacation and my appointment was canceled. Then took another month to get in for an appointment. Ran two tests on me and can not get any answers as to results or what to do next. No call backs of many calls. Very upsetting. I am moving on to a new doctor.

I have been seeing Dr. White for 13 months and would not even think of going to anyone else. With 35 years of nursing under my belt, I have never met a Specialist as kind and understanding as Dr. White. Having a multitude of medical issues, Dr. White as always been willing to take the time to listen to my concerns and to those of my spouse. He is willing to suggest procedures without making your feel you MUST do them. My husband goes to each visit and Dr. White makes sure that we both understand exactly what his plan of action is and why he has chosen that plan. Just a overall great doctor!

Dr. White amazed me when we first met by the amount of time he was willing to spend with me in discussing my problem and trying to get at the source of my problem. I enjoyed meeting with this doctor every time I had to see him, even though it was a very long commute for me. I felt he was well worth the effort. Someone wrote that he was 'dismissive'. My feelings are that this is the furthest thing from the truth. Dr. White was always willing to listen to an endless list of possibilities from me and greatly took my feelings and opinions into account. Because of my insurance, he had a great deal of extra paperwork to do on my behalf and he did it himself. If you take the time to know the staff and understand who does what, a patient's experience with this office should be a very good one.

I've only had one experience with Dr white when a family member was in the hospital. Spent all of 5 minutes in the room and said he didn't know what was wrong. If that is the best then I hate to see the worst.
