Dr. Robert Jon Widrow, MD

I could go into a very detailed evaluation of Dr. Widrow and the uncaring and unprofessional staff in his practice. But, I will only say, listen to your gut feeling. You know when something isn't right, and when your physician drags his feet, and says it's getting better, and it's obvious it's not. It's time to leave. I learned a difficult lesson, and had a long recovery.

I have been going to Dr. Widrow for quite some time. Once an established patient I found he is very personable and very professional. He had been more than the four me, along with his staff. His nurses have always been very helpful and very attentive to my needs as a patient, ( and sometimes I have been very needy) I feel as though I have had the very best of care. If I as a patient have questions with my care I have never felt afraid to ask or suggest something to him. I live the fact that he does not just throw pills at you. He allows you and your body to kinda take charge which is awesome!! I highly recommend him, and just be patient.... with any physician you have to get to know them to feel real comfortable...... be open and honest.... and be yourself... because that's what I appreciate most! I have been able to be myself!!

Not recommended. Doctor is ok (though he ordered up a PSA test I specifically asked him not to). His office staff, however, is uncaring (unfriendly, rarely a smile, not willing to help find solutions to small problems) and incompetent (misrouting phone calls, miscoding insurance forms, dropping phone calls), and obviously not happy where they are. Also, it is extremely difficult to communicate. You can't use email with them, period, and phone calls are often not returned until 24 hours later.

Dr. Widrow is a fantastic doctor, I couldn't be happier! His staff is also very professional, efficient and caring.

I have been seeing Dr. Widrow over a dozen years, but should have found a better doctor a long time ago. I am a well educated professional who recognizes quality. This is an example of POOR quality. He often takes a “wait and see” approach that has resulted in extended and worse symptoms. His staff has mis-coded the reason for my treatment several times resulting in lack of insurance coverage. He NEVER comes to the phone and his staff is RUDE. They have no understanding of how to treat customers. I have lost all faith in this doctor. I don’t think I’m alone, since he has moved into a much smaller building that is cramped and not well kept. I won’t go back, and neither should you.

I came in at request of my Urologist flank pain and blood in urine , I also had fallen hit my head, loss of some memory of events prior to fall. This doctor kept saying I didn't look sick , and to ignore blood in urine that my urologist was concerned about. I had to insist on CT of head be done, my chemo medication makes me bleed easier. This doctor didn't do exam, refused to give me referral. Neurologist said I had concussion, Lady doctor found polyp source of blood in urine. Avoid this doctor!

Went in for flank pain and blood in urine at request of my urologist . Dr. Widrow said to ignore blood in urine, that I didn't look sick, I had fallen and hit head prior to visit, he said I walked in too good I didn't look sick. I had to insist on CT. My neurologist says I had concussion, and another doctor found source of blood in urine a polyp. Dr Widrow didn't do exam. I didn't look sick. I am a Crohn's patient lots going on in my body. I guess I hide my disease well. This doctor is a total disappointment don't go to unless wheeled in on a cart.

Was my primary for 9 years. Called for a referral for an emergency and office staff hung up on me. Very rude and non-compassionate nurses. Called back and my call was never returned. Had to find a new primary doctor that was more responsive and easier to reach. Doctor spends most of the office visit researching answers on his laptop; not very personable.

Great difficultty getting insurance required referrals, don't respond to other physicians requests for records. This compromised my health and getting help in a timely order. Happened many times. Same thing getting medication ordered . Some staff lie to cover their lack of action. Dr. Widrow is becoming less thorough. In and out of the room. Many distractions. Inappropriate treatment lead to having to go to urgent care and ER and another doctor to treat a serious condition. Insufficient notes to help other doctors know how long I had been seeking help with condition. I no longer recommend him.

Dr. Widrow is a rare physician who actually takes the time to listen to you, researches questions, and cares about you as a whole person. He does not hand out prescriptions like candy but he also has excellent judgment when it comes to following up further and will order tests when there is truly a need. His staff is excellent and his nurse has been with him for a long time.
