Dr. Robert Wojtanowski

I had experience with this ER doctor two years ago with a nosebleed and very high blood pressure. I had a return ER visit yesterday with blood pressure readings of 191 over 101. (I have a family history of stroke, and my primary doctor was not available due to illness.) I tried explaining this to Dr. Wojtanowski but he cut me off and wasn't interested at all. In the ER, the bp reading went down, so he commented that I had no reason to be in the ER and that I needed to see my primary doctor. I explained that he was out of his office due to illness, at least temporarily. Dr. W then said I needed to find someone else and that he couldn't address my problem. I told him he needed to hear what I had to say and that shut him up but only briefly. The two times I've been to Lakeway ER and encountered Dr. W, I found him to be very dismissive, impatient, in a hurry, not willing to listen, and totally not interested in why I was there. He has no concern whatsover for patient care.

My husband was in severe chronic pain when we entered the emergency room at Lakeway Regional Hospital. The staff were prompt, friendly and wasted no time getting my husband to a room; the doctor was quick even entering the room to address my husbands concerns; however I was extremely displeased with his behavior and attentiveness to patient care. I understand that sometimes doctors have to do things to patients that are sometimes uncomfortable and even painful when addressing their issues but Dr. Wojtanowski didn't even act as if he heard what my husband's problem was and moved him around like a rag doll as if what he did wouldn't injure him further when in fact he could have been injured worse if I had not of spoke up or my husband had not had been adament about his pain but the doctor didn't seem to care. I had also brought a previous MRI that was taken so the doctor could better understand his condition but the doctor saw that the MRI was on a disk and handed it back to me as if… he couldn't read it or didn't want to take the time to look at it. Afterwards the very words out of his mouth was, this is the er and there is really nothing we can do to help him. I admit I then became heated because of his lack of concern and after myself and my mother-in-law addressed him more vigorously he attempted to help my husband and said he would see if he could get a hold of a doctor, that specializes in my husband's condition. I understand that sometimes people go through a routine this is their daily job, but there was no attention to my husband's care, he is a human being and should of been treated like one. The nurse however was very helpful, but due to my first experience at this hospital with Dr. Wojtanowski I will never be returning again, for we felt like idiots due to the doctor's lack of treatment as if we came for no reason when my husband couldn't even walk in the building. We are human beings and should have been treated like one by this doctor!
