Dr. Robert Wood

He is An expert in his area of plastics. Did a phenomenal repair for my child. Prior to meeting him had preconceived ideas because of previous reviews and felt our experience did not reflect those reviews. I was thankful to have him as our surgeon.

I prepared myself based on reading reviews prior but our visit with Dr Wood was wonderful and completely opposite from negative posts. I thought he was confident (not arrogant) he greeting my son by name, spent ample time answering all our questions and had a sense of humor. Our Pediatrician said he is an expert and one of the best in this field; someone she would trust her own child with. I was very grateful for his level of skill and the ability to diagnose/analysis with only a physical exam vs. exposing my son to unnecessary CT radiation. CT scan was the first option our Pediatrician suggested; looking back it would have been totally pointless as it would have just shown that one skull suture had indeed closed early. Dr Wood determined as much during the exam and concluded it was not a concern based on his other observations and explained why. My thought is heâ??s a Dr. that doesn't just order unnecessary tests or spend a ton of time restating a diagnosis just to further ease… overly concerned parents.

This is a doctor to stay clear of if you want a warm and caring doctor. Never have I ever had such a bad feeling about a doctor and his advice or there lack of. I actually left there feeling even more confused. He even had the gall to tell me to come back to see him. Sorry Dr. Wood....I will get my care, opinions and advice elsewhere!

Dr woods is a superior surgeon for cleft lip and palate surgeries. He may not be warm and fuzzy, the surgeries he performed were perfect. He is thorough and I recommend him highly!

Horrible experience

Visited Dr. Wood for a minor issue with our son (we were referred because he is a head specialist apparently). He took a quick look at our son, told us his head has a flat spot (duh), told us that our son has the option of wearing a cranial cap, 23 hours a day for 3 months. But he would not recommend doing so, or not doing so. He said "it's your decision". We asked what he recommends and he said "do what you want" and gave us a pamphlet. We said "you're the expert, we need your opinion". He again said "do what you want". He left after, perhaps, three minutes. Very rude. I'll be curious to see the bill for his three minutes of time and compute his yearly salary. Whatever it is, its far too much. Haven't been treated so rudely ever. Avoid Dr. Wood at all costs!

Initially, I was hesitant to see this doctor, based on some of the reviews. I am so glad we did! He may not be as warm and fuzzy as some, but he certainly knows his field and is extremely good at what he does. I found him courteous, he answered all our questions thoroughly and he even had a sense of humor. He did a wonderful job on our daughter and I would highly recommend him to friends and family. He is in very high demand and it can be tough to get an appointment with him, but so worth it.

Walked in with money sticking out of his pocket. Arrogant. Self absorbed. I am glad that there are other options for this type of care in the Twin Cities.

Had a previous surgery with Dr Wood, and was told if I still wasn't satisfied in the future to go back for another consultation. 5 years later I went back very unsatisfied and was told 'there's minimal improvement that can be done.' He was very rude and his staff was also very short and showed little interest in me as a patient. Left the office very upset and felt that I wasn't taken care of as a patient by anyone that I had talked to in the office. Set up another appointment with a different doctor, and was told everything completely opposite of what he had said. The first time I had surgery, he seemed fairly nice and then upon seeing him years late, I was extremely disappointed.

He is very cocky, and very busy! So busy that when it came down to my 9 months old surgery in removing a mole he decided to use staples instead of stiches we agreed for we trusted him. He besically used my son as a lab rat for it did not hold and when i called w/ my concerns for the incision had opend and i could see threw his head i was turned away and had to go to a hospital who cared and then when that hospital called the surgery hospital they said the wanted to see me as if i was crazy! Gave me the run around during an emergency. Also after the surgery i recieved no follow up to see how hes recovering!! I did recieve a card from the wonderful anesthiast frank but thats it! If i could go back i would, if u dont wanna see ur child suffer then dont see this doctor!
