Dr. Robert Yaghoubian, MD

He was insistent on complicated surgery involving bone grafts. Two other orthopedists (including HSS) recommended a cast and no surgery. Bone totally healed in 12 weeks without surgery. Stay away!

I do not recommend Dr Yaghoubian. I had a very painful fall. After a number of Xrays Dr Y said there was no break but gave me a cortisone shot which did not help. After it remained very painful a friend recommended seeing someone at the HSS in Stamford. After redoing the Xrays even I could see that there was a large break at my shoulder. Don't know how Dr Y could have missed this. Will stay at HSS for care.

Dr. Robert Yaghoubian was insistent on the need for a complicated surgery that proved to be totally unnecessary. Two other orthopedists saw no need for surgery, as the fracture was healing perfectly. Now 100% healed without the complicated surgery he claimed was necessary. Avoid this man...He is dangerous! I seriously question his motives.

Was never told before I had a complete shoulder replacement that I could be left with permanent nerve damage to my shoulder, wrist and hand , now my previously perfectly good left hand is no longer fully usable & I suffer from horrible nerve pain. After months of pt he just kept saying give it time, we’ll it’s been almost 2yrs. When I asked Dr Yaghoubian, what do I do now,his answer was there’s nothing more I can do for you & I would have to live with the pain & numbness. My life has been destroyed by his surgical expertise. I am sure he has since not given me another thought as to what he did to me.

I brought a close friend to Dr. Yaghoubian, a few years ago after a triple by-pass surgery. One of his arms and hands had been pinched somehow during the surgery and his fingers were numb. Dr. Yaghoubian sent us to Dr. Ylagen in Danbury who determined the nerves were being pinched in the wrist area. Dr. Yaghoubian said that if he didn't have surgery to loosen the pinched nerves it would only get worse. So my friend had him do it. The results were worse than before. We had it checked by Dr. Ylagin again and he said, the doctor might have missed one or more of the area affecting the nerve. When we told Dr. Yaghoubian, he went into a temper tantrum and said that the bone at top of the hand must have grown into the hand. It was ridiculous, because a major bone doesn't grow in an older man within a couple of months of surgery. He suggested shaving the bone and with that we walked out. My friend would never go back to him. Dr. Yaghoubian is an rude and arrogant man and in my view was… incompetent to do the surgery. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Hubby had an accident at work and had surgery a couple days later to close the wound. The closure is the most botched distorted thing I have ever seen. And when I called his office upset and concerned they were rude. He calls himself a hand specialist but I would be careful going to him if you like your hands. I am a medical person myself so I have seen many hand surgeries and I am upset that I didn’t send him to a plastic surgeon.

Dr. Yaghoubian operated on my husband yesterday excellent he took very good care of him. I would recommend him highly. He did total shoulder replacement on me in Sept. we both are very pleased with him. Following up with a phone call last night.

I read the reviews and concluded that he was an excellent doctor but not a people person. My husband had a cyst removed from his hand today at noon by Dr. Yaghoubian and to our surprise we got a call at home at 8pm from the doctor asking how my husband was doing and saying to call him if there were any questions. My husband is doing really well at this point and I will update the review in two weeks after the bandages come off.

Dr. Yaghoubian operated on me I had a Total Shoulder Replacement then today he operated on my husband. We are very pleased with him and I would recommend him highly.

I've been seeing dr yaghoubian for the past two month for a joint issue, in the past two months it has spread from just one hand to the rest of my body. He kept delaying further testing until I underwent physical therapy, after that failed and I had my follow up appointment he saw me for 3 minutes before rushing himself out the door saying I needed to see my general physician he wasted my time, heath, and money for zero results or help.
