Dr. Robert Andrew Yordan, MD

Hello, I recently saw Dr. Yordan for as annual routine visit. I have been seeing him for over 30 years, He is professional, kind, caring, calming, and thorough. He is very good at what he does: treating women, their problems-mentally and physically, and through pregnancy, delivering, and after-birth care. Thank you.

I saw him because another doctor in the practice was not available. I am in the medical field myself and I would never treat a patient of mine in such a condescending manner as he treats a patient. I have been having pain since I was eleven years old. I know how my body works and my pain is very real and it is a real problem. Was told verbatim and I quote, "your pain is in your head". I couldnt believe a dr would say that to me; when I tried to see someone else in his practice I had to get my therapist to call them and advocate for me because they would not return my calls. They told my therapist I was filing a lawsuit against them and slammed the phone on her, (whom by the way is the kindest sweetest old lady), when I had no such intention. I am on medicaid and dont even have money to do such a thing; nor would I want to as I am not a vindictive person. I went to another practice in New Britain and finally had laporoscopic surgery and was diagnosed with stage four endometriosis. I… dont want other women to go through what I went through. I want Drs to know women cannot be treated this way. We are people not pieces of meat and a paycheck and our pain is real and we deserve to have our medical problems taken seriously. I sincerely hope no one else is dismissed in such a way and his practice starts treating women more empathetically and not gas light them into believing they are crazy and their pain is fake or "in their head".

When I met Dr. Yordan for the first time, I felt comfortable immediately. I’ve been searching for a new OBGYN for my pregnancy and he put me at ease. He listened to my concerns and validated my feelings. You don’t see that too often these day.

Dr. Yordan talked down to me in a very condescending manner. I have severe anxiety about needles, which he only exacerbated by not taking me seriously. He was not at all empathetic or caring, and made me feel very foolish for being in pain. If you are anxious about surgery, I recommend finding someone more caring.

I love Dr Yordan. He is knowledgable and caring. He has been my gyn since my early 20's and delivered my twins 7yrs ago. In fact he not only delivered my sons - he saved their lives by recommending that I be monitored at the hospital even though my only "issue" was that I needed to be catheterized (long story!)He can appear kind of "formal" for example post-exam if he comes in and you are still tying your shoes he apologizes and blushes (ok you just performed a gyn exam I think it's ok if my shoes aren't tied!) but once you get to know him you realize it is really a level of respect for you as a person. He truly cares about you as an individual. He remembers small details about your life and wants to make sure that you get the medical care you need. I called his office because my mom who did not have a regular gyn (no insurance) had some scary symptoms he got her right in and made sure she received financial assistance. I RECOMMEND DR YORDAN TO EVERYONE!!!!!
