Well my daughter is a premie baby and for her first 4 months of life she suffered very much she wouldn't eat sleep play nothing well her Dr then didn't know what was wrong she told me it was only acid reflux and that she would out grow it. Well my daughter couldn't breath and my best friend told me to take her too Dr canales as soon as I walked in to his office it was extremely packed and I said oh no my daughter is not gonna have patience here and she's gonna be fuzzy buy staff heard how she was breathing and immediately took her in told me what was wrong that night we went to hospital she had a procedure done she's 8 months now and a completely new baby

I went to see dr. Canales and they gave me another doctor that didnt request.

Went to Providence to see this doctor and we got his trainee who could not tell us very much except his labs were okay and they needed to draw more labs. We have moved since seeing him and need the labs for follow up care and are unable to get them. After several faxes from our medical facility and speaking with his staff who said they were going to send them, they have not. He was a poor choice for my family.

Ok so ive read so many reviews and let me just say this doctor is amazing words cannot explain how thankful i am to have him as my sons doctor my story is more of a heart to heart w/ him he was my moms pediatrican then he became mine he literally saved my life which of course i am thankful for then i had my son who was a premi and had minor problems at the beginning he saw 5 doctors in the nicu and none of them were able to tell me what was wrong with him as soon as he was released i followed my motherly instinct and took him staight to Dr.Canales right away he told me the issue he was sent back to the hospital but on meds had a breathing monitor was sent to a specialist and was completely healthy in 6 months after that my son then got a huge bump on the side of his neck so i took him to the doc my mistake was letting another doc see him there and they scared me soo much by telling me it might be cancer ugh those words give me chills i freaked out as most parents would took him for… testing spoke to canales he reassured me everything would be fine i kept my faith on him and god he had his surgery and thankfully everything was fine no cancer just a infected lymphnode so thats how we found out he was allergic to cats go figure all in all i will not let another doctor see my son my son is now 3 yrs old completely healthy and very active i hope and pray god protects Dr.Canales and all his patients he is an amazing doctor-Thank you.

Dr (and I use the title with much reservation) Canales not only practices multiple specialties that he has not been trained in (PICU), but he also unethically steals patients from other doctors. He frequently uses connections at the children's hospital at Providence to weasel into admitting patients to his service that the primary doctor has specifically requested be taken care of by the hospitals hospitalist team.
