ABOUT DR. GABER
A native of White Plains, New York, I came to Baltimore in the '60's to attend Goucher College,
first as a music major (I performed 4 concertos with the orchestra there), then graduated as an English major in 1969. After teaching secondary and college English, I retrained in the sciences and in 1978, graduated from dental school!
Upon graduation I set up my office, a block from my husband, Jerome Gaber, M.D., an internist, and the two of us have been at the present location, together, for 10 years.
We both pride ourselves on taking time with patients, being thorough, keeping well abreast of current scientific theories and practices, and in referring to specialists when indicated. In my practice, we aim to learn more about the people we treat, not just about their teeth. Many have stayed with us, preferring to pay us directly, rather than switch to whomever their HMO or other plan tells them to go to.
I believe strongly in continued dental education so I can offer my …patients the most current and broadest range of services. In fact, in the past year, I attended 4 times more hours than Maryland's required continued education! Courses included implant restorations, update in restorative materials, oral lesions, periodontal/orthodontic interrelationships, CPR recertification, and a surgery symposium.
My daughter is in college. For hobbies I cook, sew, knit, garden, read with the Goucher Book Club, and as a pianist, I accompany promising string players in their recitals. Always interested in learning new things, I have studied weaving and am 4 years into studying the cello.
Professionally, I have been President of the Baltimore City Dental Society (1996) and am currently editor of its newsletter. My honor society memberships include the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the International College of Dentists. Secretary of several professional organizations, I am a member of BCDS, MSDA, ADA and the Academy of General Dentistry. My office has volunteered in the DDS (Donated Dental Services) program for the handicapped since 1989.
