Dr. Robin Moira Jones, MD

pleasant staff, nice doctor

Dismissive. Condescending. Bully. Clearly a miserable person and wants to spread the misery.

This woman treated our child for chronic debilitating migraines that proved resistant to pharmaceutical measures. Over the course of our time with her, our daughter's condition worsened in a myriad of ways and led to a chain of other diagnoses by equally qualified specialists in other specialties, including a geneticist, cardiologist, and rheumatologist. Dr. Jones refused to acknowledge these conditions (primarily the genetic connective tissue disorder) were contributing to her symptoms and instead insisted her issues were "functional". For all intents and purposes, "functional" means that it is not of biological origin and she diagnosed her with a psychiatric condition (conversion disorder) instead. Despite clear evidence of small fiber neuropathy and hypermobility, she refused to send our daughter for the appropriate diagnostic tests to investigate the cause of her autonomic issues and neuropathy. I provided Dr. Jones with journal articles about connective tissue disorders and their… correlates with spinal abnormalities such as cervical instability, Chiari malformation, Tethered Cord Syndrome and Syringomyelia and she dismissed them offhand seeming angered by my research into my child's condition. She even refused a simple MRI of her spine to rule out possible contributing factors. When I asked for a neurosurgeon consult she replied that we would be laughed out of their office. Because of this, it is now 3 years later and the neuropathy has moved from a 1 inch diameter spot on her feet to well over her knees and there is now bladder and further vascular dysfunction. Since seeking care elsewhere we found that my daughter has a serious condition known as Syringomyelia, which could have been easily seen on an MRI. That damage caused to her nerves may likely be permanent and it is solely due to the difficulty we had being taken seriously by other physicians after Dr. Jones's dismissive, reckless and uniformed psychiatric claim. She is a horrible physician and does not belong among the ranks of the outstanding professionals at MGH. I only write this review in an effort to protect other families from the maltreatment we received under Dr. Jones care.

Doctor is condescending and rude, refused to treat. She needs a class in bedside manner.
