Dr. Robin L Kirby, MD

Both kids have been to see Robin Kirby since 2012/2013. We have been talking about switching PCPs due to not being able to get into their PCP and seeing other providers (NPs, Dr. P, etc). We have history with Dr. Kirby and have loved her as a provider up until within the past few years. One dx was from her oversight of a NP dx my son wrong. Then another occasion we actually seen Dr Kirby, my daughter had been dropped from a cheer stunt. We were certain she had a concussion but wanted to make sure it was documented if there were any serious issues from it. Dr Kirby tried to scare my daughter from cheering by telling her a story about a girl who fell from a stunt when she was in school and was paralyzed. This was unprofessional but other than the miss dx prior with my son her care had been great... so we continued. I have also felt that she picks which appointments she is going to see as in the higher priority cases and the common cold/flu cases she passes off... If your my kids PCP I… would like for you to see my kid at the least 75% - 80% of the time. Out of 10 visits they both may have seen her twice in a year! Recently they dropped my daughter due to not meeting their CLINIC policy of having a physical within a year. I called a month late to get her in and they said they had already dropped her from their clinic. I asked if they could reconsider if I got her in and they said NO. Now if this was an insurance issue it would be out of their hands and I understand that. This is a blessing but I did feel a responsibility to make it public knowledge that patient care is not their priority and it doesn't matter what you try to do in order to work with them they will not work with you. Make sure you read their policies closely or you may be in the same boat!!

I work at the nuclear facility in Russellville Ar. My wife and I had a child and saw Dr. Kirby after our newborn was having trouble keeping her food down. She suggested a solution that would likely cause fatal cancer in our child long before her time. See details below. Dr. Kirby suggested delivering a radioactive isotope so she could view our child’s intestines. When she was asked what dose will be delivered to our child, 1-5 mrem, 1 REM, etc. her response was no more than driving past the Nuclear Facility. So I’m aware of the affect on radiological exposure to young people VS old people. Cells divide more when people are younger. So damage to a fetus results in birth defects, exposure to sunlight early on causes skin cancer, etc. Exposing a new born to a radioactive isotope is closer to the birth defect than skin cancer. The only difference is that you can’t call it a birth defect and it takes longer to identify. Not only did this doctor not understand this… basic concept, she had no idea on the amount of radioactive exposure she was willing to give our child. Driving by the nuclear plant is nothing... no dose. You would get exposure if you stepped outside your car with no sunblock on a bright sunny day but that’s the only way. People who claim to know things but are absolutely wrong, are a great danger to the people they serve.
