Summary
Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:From the time I was a little girl, I knew I'd be a nurse. As I finished college with my nursing degree, I began to explore furthering my education. I became a nurse practitioner because I love the compassionate part of nursing along with the opportunity to diagnose and treat my patients for their acute and chronic conditions. I enjoy interacting with my patients, teaching them and helping them explore ways to improve or maintain their health. I chose family practice because of the wide range of ages, as well as the chance to care for my patients during both illness and health.What I do when I'm not seeing patients:My free time is most often spent with my husband and our four children. I love being outside, especially at the beach! I enjoy running and am usually training for a race (including my recent first marathon) or a triathlon. I also like to read and participate in our church activities.
