Dr. Roc Winston Bauman, MD

Dr. Bauman is a very direct, straight forward doctor who is known for his knowledge in bariatric surgery. He basically saved me life in 2010. His basic theory of 60, 60, 60 is true to form. 60 oz of water, 60 grams of protein and 60 minutes of exercise per day.

i find the staff very nice ,no complaints ,but Dr.bauman could work on his social skills i feel like he is a little judgmental , if i wasn't in dire need of his help, i probably would have confronted him on it , but we will see if he gets any better as we get to know each other over more time

Dr. Bauman is a wonderful surgeon! I had VSG surgery May 31, 2012 and have had zero issues. All of his staff has been wonderful to work with, supportive, informative, and friendly. Dr. Bauman is serious about his practice and is serious about how the patient gets positive results. He does not sugar coat his expectations. He is very to the point. He does not "play" when it comes to his requirements. I am very pleased he is that way. I personally need and appreciate that strong support to ensure success. I would not trade this experience for anything! It has given me a new outlook on everything! I am HEALTHY thanks to Dr. Bauman! I STRONGLY recommend Dr. Bauman to all who inquire about my weight loss success. I feel that his being a perfectionist enhances his surgical performance also. If I am going to have something done medically or surgically, I certainly want a Dr. Bauman in my corner. I wish more surgeons and doctors were like him. Dr. Bauman gets an A+++++ in my book!

Dr. Bauman and his staff are wonderful!

He is rude and has no bedside manner. He was not only rude to me, but also my family. Very quick to judge and does not want to answer questions when asked. I feel like once he gets his money he wants to be done with you.

My Gradmother recently had a Gastric Bypass surgery. When the surgery was over he came in to the conference room quickly and said at-most 5 words before he attempted to leave and to stop him we had to ask questions. He was very quick and didn't give much detail at ALL! In other aspects he has took very good care of her and was gerat all the other times.

Dr B is a very good surgeon and very knowledgable. The insurance rep for the office is very nice but doesn't follow up quickly. I love Tammy Dr B's nurse and Diane in nutrition. The positvies are the doc/nurses knowledge and wanting me to succees. The negatives having to follow up on insurance approval and pre-requisites vs getting updates from office as promised.If you are looking for a warm fuzzy smiley doc ... don't look here but if you are looking for a doc to push you in your journey and take very good care of you this is the one you want. Lots of patients are sent to Dr B to fix things others have broken or can't fix. I have met 4 patients in his office that he didn't do the surgery on. He doesn't have a magic ball so it takes him some time to figure out what is wrong and if your original doc can help he will suggest seeing them since they did your actual surgery. I also love that the nutrition is a required part of the program. It hold me accountable and helps me learn!

I love this doctor. I had a great experience and wonderful weight loss. I went from a size 22 to a size 6. I had to be hospitalized for a blood transfusion almost 3 yrs later and he showed up in my room to make sure I was ok and taking vitamins:) it turns out I needed a hysterectomy and I had an ulcer. I am four years out in Sept. VERY HAPPY!!!!

I found the office staff extremely rude on two consecutive visits. It was so bad, I left after my first fill with Dr. Bauman and my best friend, who accompanied me as her daughter was interested in band surgery, was appalled at my treatment and immediately booked an appointment with a doctor in Chapel Hill. I researched this for so long and was convinced this was a terrific place. The band is fine but the poorly trained and extremely rude staff is such that I would highly recommend finding other board certified doctors.
